| Dog Breeds belonging to the Miscellaneous Group share one key characteristic in common: the pending status of their Breed's recognition with the AKC. They remain in limbo as members of this Group until the AKC Board of Directors deems their Breed's genetic foundation and founding parties have been significantly established. These Breeds also remain registered in the AKC Foundation Stock Service until granted full registration status. As of March 2009, a total of 11 Breeds belong to the Miscellaneous Group. |
