Bastet
Goddess of dance and music, symbol of joy, love and
happiness and protector of the house and family.
This goddess was said to have a female's body and
the head of a cat. |
|
We are a C.F.A. Registered
Cattery and feel proud, To Preserve, Perpetuate and
Promote the Traditional Siamese Cats. We at Permes
strive for excellence and work diligently to improve
and strengthen our lines. Our major commitment is to
preserve these wonderful cats from being genetically
diluted and forgotten. All of our cats are bred for
the Applehead type and are selectively chosen for
breeding to improve Health, Temperament,
Intelligence, Personality, Conformation, and Eye
Color. |
| The Traditional Applehead Siamese has always been a large, chunky bodied
robust cat with a slightly rounder than modified wedge head. We are sure that many of you remember this type of Siamese
as a child. Applehead style Siamese have been replaced by
their modern contemporaries, which are more commonly
known as Wedge Head (Show) type. |
 |
 |
| What makes the Applehead Siamese so unique is
their dog like behavior. They are highly intelligent
and very personable cats that follow you around the
house and constantly communicate in an evolved
manner. As parents we can tell you first hand that
they are great with kids and other pets. They are
docile and affectionate and easy to train. Our Motto
is sound mind and sound body. Therefore, our kittens
are well socialized from the beginning to give them
a head start in life. |
 |
We are not a
large Cattery, but are fancier/hobbyists of the "Old
Fashioned" Siamese Cats. We breed several colors points such
as, Seal, Chocolate, Blue, Lilac and we are proud to offer
all shades of Lynx Points, the SNOW TIGERS of the Siamese
breed. Definitely GORGEOUS! All of our adult cats are feline
viral paneled (blood tests) are run on all our cats to
ensure that our cats are disease free. Our cats are negative
for Felv, and FIV. Our kittens are registered with CFA. |
Health Care
Before our kittens leave to their perspective homes we
de-worm them.
Health Guarantee
Our kittens are guaranteed in writing to be in good health
without Genetic Defects and are the progeny of strong,
robust, well natured Applehead Siamese cats. We also give a
72 hour health guarantee and a Congenital Defects guarantee
for the first year of your kitten's life. Most all of our
kittens are born free of kinks in their tails or crossed
eyes. This problem is diminished through careful screening
of new cats coming in to our Cattery and selective breeding. |
 |
 |

Stud Service
We are a closed Cattery and do not offer stud service to
anyone. |
Food & Nutrition
Our cats and kittens are fed professional foods only, such
as Royal Canin Kitten Growth, Royal Canin Baby Cat, Royal
Canin Special and Royal Canin Adult and a special treat we
give our cats and kittens, All Natural All life stages
FELIDAE "Chicken and Rice in Chicken Broth". Pregnant queens
and lactating queens are given supplements to insure the
quality of their milk. Vitamin Supplements are extremely
important in maintaining the good health of your cats and
kittens, which is why we give, NuVet Plus and Missing Link
which is added to their food daily. We add a goat's milk
formula to our queens and their kittens daily diet, that is
highly nutritious and palatable. We also keep our pets on
herbs to maintain a strong, healthy immune system. |
Bali Talk
What is a Balinese?
The Balinese is a long haired cat.
The Balinese is a spontaneous long haired mutation
of the Siamese. It also may be a natural
hybrid of the Angora. Whichever school of
thought, the longhair gene is very recessive and it
can easily disappear without careful breeding. |
 |
 |
 |
Where did they originate?
Records show that a
long-haired cat of pure Siamese ancestry was
registered with the Cat Fancier's Federation in
1928. However, records are sketchy from then until
the 1940's. |
 |
Longhaired kittens probably turned up
in pure Siamese litters for years, but were given
away as undesirable. Helen Smith of New York and
Marion Dorsey of Southern California diligently
pioneered to have these cats recognized for
championship status. Helen Smith gave them the name
Balinese because their elegance and grace reminded
her of Balinese dancers. But despite the name -- the
Balinese is -- of United States Origin. |
| It would be impossible to speak of the Balinese without
mentioning the late Sylvia Holland. Without a doubt, she had
to be one of the determined pioneers of this breed. By 1968,
the Bali was accepted by all associations but CFA. Thanks to
Sylvia's tireless efforts and dedication, the CFA accepted
the Balinese to be shown for championship competition in May
1970. |

| Today, this is the only association to allow the Balinese to
be shown only in the 4 traditional colors: Seal Point,
Chocolate Point, Blue Point and Lilac Point. Unusual point
colors such as the Lynx point, Red point (Flame Point) and Tortie point are shown in the CFA as Javanese. These cats
have been developed because of a cross of the Balinese with
the Colorpoint Shorthair and are considered hybrids. |
