I grew up with an English Shepherd, who made me realize what a tremendous dog these dogs are.  I have had English Shepherds for many years of my life.  They are the great old working farm collie that everybody used to have on a farm with a few chickens, milk cow as well as other livestock.  These dogs were the all around protector of the property, livestock and children and kept everything order.  They are  very intelligent and diverse dogs that are great farm and ranch dogs as well as guardians, and tracking dogs used for hunting to search and rescue, not to mention very devoted, loving companions for young and old.  They make excellent children’s dogs regardless of age. 

       Unfortunately, they were almost bred out with the changing life style and people moving off the farm.  I have a small acreage muck like days gone by, where I raise my own livestock producing my own milk, meat, eggs and produce.  My English Shepherd puppies are raised around livestock and well socialized making them a great addition to a farm, ranch, or excellent family companion!
