                    Rosco

"In the Company of Dogs"

"Dog of the month
January 2006
"

Meet Rosco, a Chihuahua.

His favorite toy is a stuffed sock that he likes to play tug a war with.  Pastime is laying in the sun. Pet peeve is the vacuum, he hates it! He likes to have his breakfast in bed!  Owner is Hettie in Florida.

Breeder is Dawn Dalyce of SugarnSpice Chihuahuas.

Mr. Darcy

Hello Dawn,

Just wanted to give you an update on Mr. Darcy...at two years old he is amazing and I couldn't love him more!  He still goes to work with me every day so his day is filled with kisses and belly rubs, rambunctious playing and long naps.  He hangs out with about seven other dogs (they have turned work into their own personal dog park) and even though they range from Terrier to Newfoundland, Darcy of course rules the floor!

I thought you might be interested in seeing the Target ads Darcy was in...they ran in People, Us Weekly, O The Oprah Magazine, InStyle and others.  The photo shoot was great fun and he was a total pro (the boiled chicken used as bait definitely helped).  They were worried he might not like getting dressed and having the clothed pinned and taped up, but he just gave them kisses and was totally cool with it.  From day one he's loved strangers and kids and is a total people dog.

Last year, Mr. Darcy was also featured in a Wall Street Journal article about dogs in the work place...front page of the Marketplace section.  Of course, Mr. Darcy often prefers to sleep in my in-basket instead of the doggy sofa on my desk (which is surrounded with Plexiglas for safety).

Here is a pdf link to the article:
http://www2.petsitters.org/CharlotteReedinWSJ.pdf

I will let you know if anything else comes up...but for now...everything is great and Mr. Darcy is happy and healthy and a terrific little dog.

Cheers,
Hillary

Hi, Dawn!
My apologies for taking over a week to write you. I wish we'd had more time to chat while I was there, but felt pressure to speed things up, since Sue had her German Shepherd pup in the car and was ready to roll.

I'm completely besotted with my female silver chinchilla, Puahina. After a day or two of settling in, Hina is everything you promised: lively, curious, friendly, cuddly. She took her first vet visit in stride -- totally non-chalant. Her "big sister" (my Ragdoll, Maka Nani) adores romping and rolling with her tiny playmate, and protects Hina from "the old ladies" (my two foster calicoes).

I'm thrilled to have such a gorgeous kitten with her exceptional personality. Had forgotten just how much fun (and how much work!) the baby phase is -- and how quickly they dash through it! In just 9 days, she has nearly doubled in size. Would love for her to stay a kitten, yet I can't wait to meet the grown-up cat waiting to blossom.
Anyway, I thought you'd appreciate an update on the first kitten to leave the queen. Will write again soon and send

Dawn,
I hope everything is going well for you, I just wanted to give you an update on Stella and thank you for being such an amazing breeder who breads dogs that go far beyond the bread standards. We have been taking both Stella And Kiku to puppy classes and Stella is the talk of the entire training facility. She is known for being the " cutest chi anyone has ever seen", for being the most social Chi and for being so smart and healthy. She has shocked everyone there so much we have decided to start working on competition obedience with her. Training has turned into her favorite thing to do every day. she prances and wiggles throughout all of training! I can not thank you enough and we are constantly telling people about you! I will let you know when she does her first competition, it wont be for about another year.

The first 2 attached photos are Stella training ( she is even wagging her tail in one of them ). The last picture is her just being adorable!

Thank you so much!
Jessica Aron

Wow even though Reeses puppies are still nursing and are going on 7 weeks, she took in a 24 hour old Pomeranian puppy who's mom had a traumatic birth and lost her milk. I have her in a separate play pen with this puppy since hers go the bulk of mid day without eating. Thank goodness her temperament is not bad or else this could have been tragic.

Hello Dawn,

Hope your weekend was as wonderful as mine!  My boyfriend and I had lots of fun with Samsara, the new kitten from you.  Claudia kindly dropped her off on Friday around 8PM.  When I saw the kitten, I was surprised at how small and pretty she was.  She was almost too cute to be from the earth!  She is very outgoing and social.  She likes everyone.

I drove home yesterday.  I set up a booster seat for Samsara and she traveled like a pro.  She just enjoyed the sun and music.  She seems to dislike kennel but doesn't mind seating inside a pet seat with leash on.  As soon as we got home, she explored the whole house.  At night she slept on my neck and started to purr when I play with her.  My friends came over to meet Samsara and they couldn't stop complementing on her looks and personality.  They currently have two cats but they said their next cats will come from you.  My boyfriend's roommate also wants to adopt a cat from you.  He wants a short black haired kitty.  If you get one in the future, please let me know.

Later today, I am going to bring my resident cat from her boarding place.  I hope she and Samsara get along well.  I am crossing my fingers.  Wish me a good luck!

Big hug,
Min

Dawn:

Wished I would have met you but some other time.  Misty is so precious she loves to sleep late just like I do, cuddly little one, love everything about her...Last night she was plying but I can tell that she misses her borthers and sisters, so I slept on the floor to keep her close to me and she slept by my face.  Shoot I already ordered her food and they told me it was two months worth and frankly I like it for less time because I want fresh food.  Her food arrives today.  Well, it's a new thing for me and will let you know.

Thank you again.
Silvia

Dear Dawn,

Thanks for your quick response. We're looking for female dog (short hair). How old your babies? For us better to buy the same like we did last time with LiLi. She was 4 m.old. Not small, but not big to adjust new place. Our baby is very small-3.5p I'm interesting to see photos. Can you have time to send some?

PS: I'm sending Attachment. Front page of 2009 Calendar (LiLi's photos). I made this for our family and friends.

My best, Yelena, Mike and LiLi

Hi Dawn!

I thought you would like to see some pictures of Cornelius, he's almost 4 months old! the first few pictures are from this week, the last three are from the weekend we brought him home. He's super happy, healthy and training us as much as we're training him. Hope all is well out there in puppy land. We were looking at pictures of your puppies tonight :)

 Best, Robert, MIchelle and Cornelius

Thought you might like a photo of Shylo. She is only about 3 lbs but has a very wide pelvis and can pop the babies out with little effort.

Hi Dawn,
This is Blossom and Tux both granddaughters of your Champion Licorice! Both parents dams however are both daughters of American & Singapore CHampion Ouachitah Yeoman who is a direct son of the legendary American Champion Ouachitah Beau Chiene (sire of 100 champions). So it is a close linebreeding. Hope they continue to turn out well. Look at the heads and faces.

Cheers!

Hey Dawn,

Just quick note to let you know this is the absolute best puppy we have ever had. We named him Cooper.
Last weekend I took him to our youth's "Winter Ball", and boy was he popular. He had his picture taken by a professional photographer with a couple of the young people and of course with Chuck and I. He was loving every minute of it.

I never expected a puppy to housetrain as fast as he is. He goes straight to his wee pads, and has only a couple of accidents. Last night he actually whined and ran until he found his pad to use.

Every morning at 5:30 am my husband puts him in bed and we cuddle for a couple of hours..

What a delight!!!!!

Thank you, and I will be sending pictures also!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dawn,
I wanted to thank you for the advice about Stellas spay. They did the blood test and her results were flawless, the vet gave her a small sugar drip to be sure she didn't get low during the surgery. The vet office could not stop talking about how healthy and sturdy she was for her size and how she had the most amazing temperament they had ever seen in a chi. I gave the vet your information and they said they wanted to give your email to people who were looking for amazing chi's. I told them you has some available now and a few people sounded interested. Marcus and I are always talking about how it is so hard not to buy tones of dogs from you because they are so amazing! I just wanted to say thank you and let you know Stella is doing great! she is recovering faster then expected and is acting almost all bettor!

p.s. I attached a picture of her the morning after surgery in her little cone : (

Hi Dawn,
Baby Doll is so sweet!!!! She popped out of her box 10 minutes from your house and crawled up into the girls laps and sat there the entire ride. She could not have been more calm and sweet. Now the girls are both sleeping in Ellie’s room with Baby Doll asleep on her bed. We all love her so much! I will send you a photo of her riding in Abby’s lap in the car, too cute!

Thank you,
Alex

Good Morning Whisper and Brian.

My wife is absolutely elated. Daisy Dots is so fun and affectionate and has a passion for my wife. When my wife calls her, she runs right to her. Our other dachshunds love her too, no immediate jealousy. Daisy Dots has peed etc. outside all but once. She slept in the bed with us last night. Daisy Dots is surely not crate trained, cried her eyes out in there at bedtime, so in bed she came and slept all night.

Again, we love her dearly. Puppy mills and unknown breeders scare the Hell out of me, but I was so impressed with you and the family style you presented, I knew you were the one to buy the puppy from. I had talked with over a dozen others till I talked with you. I sure made the right choice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

Thank you again, and I will send a picture soon. Don’t forget to send me one of you and the family. And one of you nude (just kidding………….unless you really want to).

Pleasure doing business and talking with you, Billy.

Hi Dawn!

Renate Pepin.

" Wookie " the SugarNSpice Chihuahua is mascot of the " Tiger" Tae Kwan Do Dojo in Patterson CA. So, good with the kids!!!

Hi Dawn!

This is Krishna, you probably don't remember but I bought a golden long coat chihuahua from you about a year ago... I just wanted to let you know he is doing GREAT!!! Email me back if you want pictures... hes so big now ! =)

I am in love with your line that you are breeding so I would prefer to stay with your bloodline. I am not saying your friends don't have a good line, I just have to stick with what I know. I know my little Valentino (Chihuahua) is awesome and well mannered. My husband was telling me we have to stick with what we know is good and Val is a great dog. So with that said, the puppy would be for us. We LOVE dogs. We realize the little dogs do not take much work and they can sit on your lab and love on them. Not so true with the labs or bigger dogs. They require much more care than the little ones. Val is so easy that we decided to get another little one that will not even come close to a big dog. So we are waiting til later to get our 4th dog that will be a chocolate lab. For now, it is small dogs and yes the dog is for us. I would personally send our friends or family to you to deal with you directly. I don't function well trying to be a third party. I have horses and saw how it worked with horses and told people to forget about getting me involved. I don't know what people want, even family, so I give them information to get in contact with the breeders or people selling the pups. I just feel it takes a lot more pressure off of me. I know you have many people who lie about these kinds of things but I can't lie. My conscience would eat at me for the rest of my life. Sorry. So the puppy is for me and my husband. Color preference is Brindle or brindle with white, just like Valentino. We do not have a preference on boy or girl. That is why I was giving you a little background on the boys we have so you could tell me what gender we should get so we don't cause conflict in our group. Our boys are so wonderful I hate to upset either one of them. So whatever you think we should get, I am happy with. I am not looking to breed them as both our boys are fixed, the next one we get will get fixed also. We are just pet lovers and want another bright light of fun and sunshine in our lives. If you could help us find a puppy that would be great but I would prefer it come from one of your litters. The parents of Val that we love are: Sugarcookies and LIttle Boy Blue. Val is a great dog and would love another one from this litter if possible but if you can guarantee me another great dog from another one of YOUR litters then I would take them. I just like what you do with your dogs and how they are trained so I would prefer to go that route again. I looked at your website but most pictures are old pictures. So that is why I was emailing you. We can wait to get another dog, we do not have to have it right now. We are patient parents and can wait for the perfect fur son to come into our lives.

Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks again for all your help and giving us a wonderful dog.

Regards,

Dawn

Hey Dawn

Our girl is definitely pregnant ! If you would have asked me last week, I would have said no because she did not show at all. Tuesday her belly popped out and you can really tell. Will keep you updated. PS - Dawn - she really loves the new dog food :-)

Ruby Dee

BREEDERS NOTE:  If you breed dogs it's VITAL to give them the VERY Best food...or , even if just LOVE your pet, and want to avoid vet bills and illness.  Try  www.healthypetnet.com/dawndalyce   the "Life's Abundance foods.   When we do a sire service, and recommend it..our new breeder friends are impressed !

Dawn

I hope you are doing well, I bought Layla from you January she was a product of Cherry Pie and Ira, I have attached pictures she is the most fabulous dachshund our family has had and everyone adores her!! She is just shy of 10 pounds, great temperament loves other dogs, and has the best coat!! So needless to say we are very happy with her so thank you. I am writing to tell you that I have a friend who loves layla and has a puggle who needs a friend, I sent him your website and email but I just wanted to give you the heads up that he will probably be contacting you in the near future. His name is John Yeager, hopefully you can match him with one of Layla's fabulous siblings! Hope all is well, take care.

Carson Delfer

Dawn,

Thank you so much for taking time the other day to talk to me about poor pregnant Reeses. I did take her to the vet the next morning to the tune of 181+ just for a comprehensive blood panel and office visit. She was slightly anemic, but the vet is not worried and said they would retest after she delivers. Since the vet visit I have had her here in my bedroom with me in a playard and she has been getting much better. She is running around even............hummm it would have been nice if she could have made the turn around before I ran her off to the vet. The vets office called yesterday to tell me it will cost 189.00 to do an x ray, her to stay half a day to do it and to read it. Good night I can palpitate her during and after labor to the tune of free!!! I have ordered some cal sorb to have here just in case something comes along again.

I am adding some photos I took of her the other day so you can see how pregnant she is (<: She has really turned out to be a nice, gentle, loving girl.

Dear Dawn....thanks again for my darling babies.  They are the light of my every single day ! ! ! ! !   Vanessa and I went to see Beverely Hills Chihuahua this weekend and guess what ? ? ? ? ?  They were all cute, but seriously ! ! ! ! !  Not one of them was as cute as the three of ours are ! ! ! !   They were worth every penny that I paid you for them.  they are such a joy ! ! ! !  !

Dawn,

We lucky enough to find you back in 1998 ish when you were in Valley Springs Ca. Trooper was the guy that decided he wanted to join our family, wow since then we have been in Vancouver, WA and now in the Kansas City are. Yes Trooper is still with us. He is a great baby. Saw your website and thought I would drop you a line.

Take Care. Dave, Peggy Feiling and family.

Dear Dawn,
I'm sending LiLi's Postcard that I did for her Birthday (6m).
My Best, Yelena.

Hi Dawn,
I took this one yesterday and have tons more that i will send in a zip file along with a letter about our angel. She has become very spunky the last week or so. You can tell she is really comfortable at home now, she knows where her bed, food and litter box are. We are thinking of getting her a playmate since she spends most of her time with my kids and they are going back to school next week. Do you have or are you expecting any blue or lavender females? If you have any please send me pics. =)

Hi Dawn
Just letting you know that Mercedes daisy is doing great. She is up to date on all her shots and playing all day long with electra. They drive me crazy sometimes.she says hi and sends her love. Sent on the TELUS Mobility network with BlackBerry

Hi Dawn,

I just want you to see this picture of brownie and bailey in bolettes bed.... Aren't they sweet love Pia

Hi Dawn,

Cinder delivered 3 puppies on June 11th. 1 boy and 2 girls. One of the girls is identical to her...and has her outgoing personality. Cinder is now being showed in conformation and seems to be a "natural". Her puppies are absolutely the finest I've bred to date. I attached pictures of the girls so you can see how cute they are...the little boy didn't make it because I couldn't get him out of the birth canal fast enough. He was choc brown and white....we were very sad to lose him and tried everything to revive him. They were born at 3am and none of the vets in this area will respond at such a late hour...I totally blame myself for not moving quick enough when I realized he was breach. One of the girls was born the same way and I responded quickly with no problems delivering her. I will not be breeding her again until next summer to give her a chance to recoup. She is an awesome mommy and my favorite chi.

Stacey Lynn Croy

Breeders Note: Hi Stacey , Precious ! Are these from my "Cody" bloodline? Dawn , SugarNSpice Chihuahuas

Stacey: Yes...your Cody is Cinder's father. My Cody is the pups father and I attached a pic of him so you can see where the coloring is coming from. They are a perfect match and produce awesome pups! I can't tell you how much I truly adore Cinder...she has the most awesome personality and is very social with everyone. I just love her to pieces!!! She still gets car sick though....LOL.

Dear Dawn.

Just a little update on our sweet girl:

Asia got “fixed” this morning, she did fine, we can pick her up tomorrow. It will be interesting to see how Rico does tonight without his little sister!!!! She has been humping him like crazy; I guess she’s letting him know whose boss!!!

We love them both, they are perfect together and we couldn’t ask for better puppies!!

Check out Asia’s tail, you’d think she would take off like a helicopter!!! Rico does that cute look when I ask him questions, I could just eat him up when he gives me that tilted head look, I love them both so much!!!

Shirley

Dear Dawn.
Tatiana is doing very well. She adjusted right away to her new family. She is learning quickly. We are having a really great time with her. Here are a couple of pics.
Jason and Joseph

Dear Dawn;
I apologize for the delay in my sending you this email, it has been a bit hectic in the Wilson household for the last 2 weeks. I spoke with you on the phone and am now requesting a list of the shots with dates given to our puppy while she was being care for so lovingly by you. Her name was Coco, (now it is Elli) her dam was Mookie and the sire was Cody. She is such a wonderful addition to our family and brings such joy just by being her playful self. She is healthy and thriving! She is a great eater and has never had any problems with her blood sugar getting too low. We are thrilled with our newest member of the family!

Thank you for your anticipated cooperation, Mary Wilson

BREEDERS NOTE: When you lose your Shot Record, or your AKC papers, a responsible Breeder is there for you , keeps records on file, and can replace them :)

Dear Dawn,
I'm sending photo of our small Princess LiLi. She is sending One Million kisses for you!
My Best, Yelena.

Hi Dawn

Now we are home again..... And I sent you the first picture in Denmark with brownie... In Copenhagen... Street... Every body ho sow her....said ooohhh she is lovely ...... Bella bella and so on .....I will sent you more later.... I am so tried now....love pia...

Hi Dawn,

As you can see our babies are getting along pretty good. They started sleeping together on Saturday night in the same crate and are doing fine. They love to play hide and seek with their toys, they fight over everything and anything!!! They keep going underneath each other and it looks like their doing wheel barrel racing, not sure what that’s all about!!!

Asia still won’t use the litter box but she has not had one accident, she goes outside and has been such a good girl, how can we complain. Now if she could just teach Rico to only go outside……or vise versa!!!

We love her very much & hope that Rico will calm down a little and stop picking on her.

Thanks for such a sweet girl, we knew once we wanted a playmate for Rico we would have to get it from you, you did such a great job with both of them.

Thank you!!!

Shirley & Gary, Rico & Asia

Hi Dawn!

Well it has been a few months now so I thought I would give you an up date on Rolo. To start he is now 6 months old and weighs 13 pounds!! Has finally finished with the vet!! Meaning all of his vaccines are completed, had his rabies just a few weeks ago. He is a very very social puppy, loves being around people and so far most dogs. He actually has a playmate that is a Rottweiler. He goes to puppy socials every Sat. And plays free with approx. 15 other puppies within his age/weight for about 2-3 hours. Totally loves it. He has graduated from Puppy kindergarten, and did very well. Very smart and eager to learn. Will start other classes here soon.

He is a joy to work with, with a bit of a silly personality at times which makes it that much more fun!! He is fully house trained, so well that we can go to other houses and he will use his pads in doors. He loves going in the car or out to walk. Where ever we go he wants to go, and usually does. He of course is very spoiled!! But in a good loving way. Hope you are doing well and that I did not bore you with this note! By the way he still loves chicken jerky!! :) Will keep you up dated if that's ok with you. Hope you enjoy the pics.

Pam

Breeders note :  Rolo is a chocolate and tan dachshund puppy, that was nearly put down by a stupid vet who said he had "parvo"  and was dead wrong, he just had a bad reaction to a food change.  Gramma had another vet in their town come do a sophisticated parvo test which came out negative  ( I knew it would since we use Neopar)  Gramma kept him for a couple of weeks and he was in fine fiddle again quick!

Hi dawn,

Hope all is well. I'm sorry I haven't sent the money to you yet. Someone hacked in my account and took money and charged the credit card up the wazoo. But I'll get the money to you as soon as the bank repays me the money that was stolen.

Yea I was on Pay pal all my bank accounts and Credit cards were on pay pal (i'm not using them anymore). I'm soo signing up for that lifelock. I get paid on the 1st so i'm going to cash my check. So I can send some money to you. Thats so sad that people need to steal from people. GO GET A JOB! with computers or something. Thats what i'm going to do close everything and change my Credit card numbers. So when I get paid I'll send the money right over. I'm truly sorry for leaving you hanging.

Thanks again for everything, Melissa

Breeders Note: THIS is why we no longer take PayPal or Credit Cards. Hackers have gotten too sophisticated.

Actually Lolita Bonita Margarita Chihuahua. When she's wiggly she's Lolita Chiquita Bananas, and when she's full she's Lolita Burrito. I sent my husband names I liked, including Lola and let him choose. He liked Lola, so do I.

For my last birthday, my friend gave me a bottle of Papillon Pinot. There was a Papillon on the label with markings like Lola. They had altered her forehead blaze to the shape of a wine glass. I think Lola's blaze looks more like a tall margarita glass with a lime on one side and a straw on the other, hence the name.

She's amazing. We're bonding like crazy. Such a sweetheart!
Thank you for my baby... Here's a photo for you... I send you a better one of the margarita if I can get her to sit still long enough!

xo,
Kelly :)

Hi Dawn,

I thought it was about time I updated you on Cody. Yeah!! He's had all his shots except rabies so we're out and about a lot now. Of course Daisy loves him. He's the best toy I ever bought her. He weighs 2 pounds 15 ounces. I don't think he'll get much bigger. Larry is very upset. Cody is very attached to me and I have 2 dogs on my lap in the morning and evening. I guess we'll have to get one more. He he! (Larry says no!) He's just a big softy. Do you want to make a bet he gives in? Every morning we get in the spa (see pictures).
I hope all is going well with you. I have given your web address out to several people who are looking for small dogs. Every one is so impressed with the calmness of my two. I hope it brings you business.

Take care

Barbara

Hi Dawn

Ever had a dog die after having their teeth cleaned? My 5 year old girl went in for a dental…pre-op bloodwork showed nothing…now she's dead…Judy

BREEDERS NOTE :  So sorry about your Jack Russel girl !!!!   Yes, we actually hear of this too often, from people with all different kinds of breeds.  That's why we use the Daily Oral Care liquid that you simply add to their water bowls,  that gives them minty breath and keeps the plaque off their teeth, and greatly reduces the risk of anesthesia  for vet teeth cleaning !  Get some at www.healthypetnet.com/dawndalyce

Hi Dawn

What a joy they are to wake up to every morning. Specially Daisy, cause she wakes us up with massive amounts of kisses every morning ! ! ! ! !

Hi Dawn

This is Shirley, Here is a picture of my babies.

Hi Dawn

Here is a picture of daisy in her basket she is beautiful and very loving She is an angel and has already brought me lots of joy. You have done a fantastic job with her and you are a great breeder I would not hesitate to buy another dog from you Everyone can't believe how well she is socialized and how attached she is to me.

Thank you for my angel!
I will keep in touch
Melissa

Hi Dawn

I have daisy she's beautiful she is clinging on to me for dear life.
I just love her

Thank you
Melissa
I will keep in touch

Hi Dawn,

I just wanted to give you an update on Bubba and Sissy. They have both adjusted exceptionally well since Sissy’s arrival. She is definitely the dominant one – no matter what toy Bubba has, she takes it and he either decides to make a game of it or moves on to another toy. They sleep together during naps and at night; Sissy usually lays her head on Bubba and/or they cuddle-up next to each other. Bob and I comment almost daily how thankful we are that we found you. We feel very blessed to have two such happy and lovable puppies. You really do raise/breed “the best”.

Sissy has been so easy to potty train. I didn’t even do much – she just follows Bubba’s lead. She’s a very, very smart little girl. I can’t express how much we love both of them!

Also, you had requested that I email you regarding Sissy’s info to submit her AKC registration. What do you think about the name Hershey’s Caramel “Sis”?

Well, I better get back to work. I look forward to hearing from you. Take care Dawn!

Hi Dawn

Tom called us from the airport as he leaves town for two days. He tells Lola and me to be patient with Spike and his teething bites! How's that for buying into the puppy????

Dawn,

I want to thank you so very much for taking the time out of your busy day to provide me with information and advice on what to do with my two new puppies.

I am going to take your advice and wait on them. The girls bite may come back with her adult teeth or it may just stay off, but either way she will be able to breed. The boy has been up for sale so I guess if anyone wants to pay 1200.00 for him he will sell, and if not then I will keep him and use him here myself (<: But I am not going to lose my shirt by giving him away for less than I paid.

Thank you again and I will keep you posted if and when I start to show here. It is more of a when than an if (<:

Doris Madara ~ Dochema's Chihuahua's

Breeders Note: Dochema's Chihuahuas is happy with the puppy they bought from me, and unhappy with two that were supposed to be show quality , from another breeder.

Hi Dawn, I'm getting ready to have Zoe spayed. I was wondering if you knew from experience, about when it's most likely for a puppy to start her heat. I was wondering if it was urgent to have it done by her sixth month, or if I could wait 'til the end of May. All is well, and she is a beautiful girl. She's the big hit when I take her out to the dog park. She's had all her shots.

Have a Happy Day,
Janie

Breeders Note: They can come in anywhere from 6 - 13 months, usually about 9 months, and as long as there is no male around to breed them accidentally....you can easily wait past that heat...and do it at a year old....it's not like males where you need to cut off the testosterone to keep them from pee marking and growing large genitalia and you need to neuter by 4-5 months, a year or so is fine for girls. .... :) Dawn

Hi Dawn, This is Ron Gates from Clayton. We purchased "Bubba" from you last Feb. He is the joy of our lives. He is an incredible dog. We were looking at your web page and saw a black & tan female image 0723.We would be interested in more info on this baby. I guess we are in the market for a black & tan Chi.

Thanks,

Ron

Gary loves him; he takes him with him everywhere!!! All the residents at the nursing home love Rico, he takes him to the bank, drug store, everywhere!!!

He’s great, he loves his crate, he goes right to sleep around 10:00 and sleeps until 7:00. Once in a while he’ll scratch to get up and pee or poop. He’s only had a few accidents; he’s got a great appetite. He’s just such a sweet & gentle puppy. Right now he’s playing with his toys, and loves getting kisses and being held!!! He’s just about 3.5 lbs now, so he’s gain about 1 lb.!!!

I can’t thank you enough, we love him more then we ever thought we could. He is perfect in everyway!!! Maybe some day we’ll get him a sister or brother!!!

I’ll drop you a line every so often, thank you again!!!

Hello Dawn!

I purchased a darling Ragdoll kitten from you two years ago. She’s so precious!! I would very much like to purchase another female kitten and would like to know if you have any available now or in the near future. Thank you and look forward to hearing from you.

" I'M A BIG BOY NOW "

My name is Black Jack, BJ if you're nice,
Today I am 5 months old,
I'm a big boy now.
I love to run and play all day,
I'm a big boy now.
I love my big brother Spartacus.
I love to climb on him and bite his legs,
I'm a big boy now.
Most of all, I love my dad's,
They gave me a home and so much love
and because of them, today.....
I'M A BIG BOY NOW !!

April 2, 2008

Good Morning Dawn,

I just wanted to give you an update on Rico.

He is doing fantastic!!!  He slept all night last night!!  He went to bed at 9:30 in his crate in our room right next to our bed, which he loves, I think he feels very safe & secure in it; he slept right through until 6:00 this morning.  He got up, went crazy giving me kisses and running around like a little nut and then went in the litter box and peed and then a few minutes later went in again and pooped!!!  He only peeped on the floor once since he’s been home.

He’s gone every where with us; to the convalescent home to see my dad, for rides, to my stepdaughter’s house to meet the granddaughter, he did very well with her, growled a little at first and then was fine.  He seems to love the car and going places!!!

Our cat Milo and Rico are doing fine, Milo let him know that he’s the boss and they seem to be getting a little closer every day.  They just sit and look at each other, it’s so cute.  In all he is doing fantastic!!!  My husband is going to bring him to my work today so everyone can see him.  He wants me to hold him all the time and snuggle together!!!

I got him a cute stuffed animal and he “humps” it all the time, it’s a riot!!!  The guy I work with that owns a kennel said it’s a dominance thing and to let him do it.  We gave him a bath last night with the shampoo that came with the puppy pack, he didn’t seem to mind it at all.  He’s getting use to his collar and we’re trying to teach him to walk with the harness, that’s still tough for him, but he’ll learn!!!

The only problem we seem to be having is he doesn’t seem to want to eat his food.  If we smash it up and add some baby turkey food then he eats it right up, but just giving it to him from the bag, he’s not interested in it, any suggestions???

You did an excellent job teaching him to use the litter box and socializing him, I hear so many stories about how mean Chihuahua’s are & how hard it is to potty train them, Rico is wonderful, sweet and loving & very smart!!!!  All thanks to you!!!

We love him and Thank you for such a great puppy!!!

I’ll keep you posted on how he does this week, but I think he’ll do just fine!!!

Thanks for such a beautiful and sweet puppy!!!

Shirley & Gary

Hi Dawn,

He’s on my lap as we speak!!! His flight was on time but he didn’t get to the cargo area until around 1:30!!! I was so afraid something happened!!! He is beautiful!!! He slept in my arms all the way home, we got to home just in time for his 4:15 vet appointment. He checked out great, the vet looked at the sore on his left front paw but he said it doesn’t look serious. We stopped and showed my dad and brother at the convalescent home and then finally got here around 6, he had such a hard day!!!! He never pooped and we don’t think he peed either until we got him home, then he went in the litter box!!! He ate a little food and water at the airport and when we got to the vet they gave him some baby food, he LOVED it!!!

My daughter loves him, and Milo and he seem okay. We heard him bark for the first time at the vets at a big dog!!! And then he barked at Milo a few times but I think they’ll be friends!!!

I’ll send you some pics shortly; we love him and let’s hope he does well tonight!!!!

THANK YOU!!!!!

Hi Dawn,

I just wanted to tell you how much Dave and I love Strudel and Baby Bear. Dave sent you pictures of them yesterday. Our oldest daughter, Melanie, was visiting this week-end and we all took Strudie to the beach for the first time. She really seemed to like it there a lot!! We are keeping her walks interesting and soon Bear will join her. He plays in a big, grassy courtyard at our complex right now. We are being very cautious that Strudie doesn’t jump up or down on anything and no stairs of any kind. We are so happy with our three, Strudie and Bear have filled up our home with love and we aren’t so lonely now that our two daughters are out and on their own. Thank-you for doing a wonderful job of socializing them, they both love people and are very happy here. Schnoptz, our oldest, has adjusted and particularly likes Bear as Bear is much gentler than Strudie!! Our younger daughter, Melissa, lives in S.F. and can’t wait to meet Bear and see how big Strudie has gotten! She talked me into getting Bear and I can’t imagine not having him now!! Thank-you for these healthy, loving, pups!!

Sincerely, Jeannie Durian

Hi Dawn:

Thank you so very much for accommodating my friend Toni (and her family) on such short notice. Again, we both apologize for that - she didn't know she was heading to Atwater until Tuesday afternoon.

Toni told me that your pet clientele are very fortunate to have such a good home - one that she rated as better than a 5-star hotel. She was highly impressed with their care and surroundings - and said that you were absolutely delightful. She really enjoyed meeting you.

I will be in touch.

Thanks once again.

Mary

Hi Dawn,

I thought that you were going to pay for my airfare.

Actually, I was sending the email from my home address to my office. So the click must have been off one “David” to “Dawn” in my auto address book.

But this will give me the opportunity to share a few pictures with you of both Strudel and Baby Bear. They absolutely love each other, which gives our 16 year-old Schnoptz relief from the former “one puppy wildness” directed at him.

As you can see from the picture with Jeannie of Strudel’s 1st trip to the beach, her whiskers and beard are growing in nicely.

Strudel and Baby Bear are wonderful members of our family.

Thanks again,

Dave

P.S. I am copying in our daughters so that they can see the pictures and check out your web sites.

Hi, Dawn

I wanted to send you an update on Black Jack. Larry and I can not say enough about him! He has been a blessing to us both, and his "big brother" Spartacus.

Everyone who sees him can not believe how adorable he is and hoe friendly he is with strangers. The little guy is to cute and smart for being just over 4 months old. He loves to play hard and sleep hard too! We can not say enough about you and Black Jack! WE LOVE HIM! Our family is complete with him!

Thank you for being the breeder that you are ! GREAT WORK

Carl Brown, Larry Fleener, Spartacus, and Black Jack

Hi, Dawn

This is Abigail Chao. I just wanted to share to you Lucky's latest picture. She's doing really good. She's healthy and gaining weight. Happy Easter !!!

Hi Dawn,
I just wanted to let you know that We got home ok and Izabella is doing great. She loves all the attention and does what she has to, to get it if she doesn't feel she is getting enough. She is great and we absolutely could not be happier. Thanks so much!

Awww man! Well, I might be interested in a pom-chi puppy too...but this time I would really love a little girl! Do you have any photos yet? I know you're busy, so take your time with the pics! I just called my boyfriend and he said that we can come by your place, maybe sometime in the next week. You know, it's really funny because he tried talking me out of getting a Chihuahua...he said "i hate little dogs, they're always yapping!" But now, he's in LOVE with Tito! He gives him doggie massages, cuddles him and even lets Tito lick his mouth! I never thought I'd see the day! People are always asking where I got Tito and I just can't say enough about you and your immaculate kennels!

Angela

Just wanted to thank you again for taking the time to help me , will do all the things u said, god bless p.s. This is a picture of my baby.

Breeders note: this Chihuahua owner is in the UK and couldn't get our Life's Abundance super premium dog food, so I told her what to feed her Chihuahua.

Hey Dawn!

It's Mattice, now Tito's mommy (his parents are Gideon & Powdered Sugar)...I'm playing with the idea of getting ANOTHER one! You were right, they are addicting! I'm interested in Sugarbun...is she still available? How much would she cost without papers? I don't know if my boyfriend will let me get another one right now...but he's been talking about it for a long time. Tito's such a good boy! The best dog I've ever owned! My daughter is now 15 months old and just learned to walk...Tito was what made her start walking, she LOVES him! If we don't get a puppy right now, we will definitely be getting another one within the next year (and hopefully more after that!) Thanks again Dawn, you're the BEST!!!

Love, Angela, Travis, Taya & Tito

P.S. - I attached five photos of Tito, the last two are of him with my daughter :)

Hi Dawn,

Just wanted to send an email with an update on little Miss Mia (previously Barbie), who we bought from you in October of 05. Mia is such a great dog. We had a new baby last March, and prior to him being born, we were really worried about our little girl, as she's not a kid friendly dog. We had someone come and work with her to be more comfortable around people, by just working with her, based on her personality. We shouldn't have worried. The minute we bought our son home, it was HER baby. And even though he's nearly a year old, and now an active toddler, she's still as patient with him as she was the day he came home. She always makes sure she keeps an eye on him if I turn my back, and she constantly tries to give him kisses (although, now he pushes her out of the way). This was a pleasant surprise, as our older lab, doesn't like him, but generally tolerates him. She still gets upset around other kids, but our son will always be her baby.

Statia

Hi Dawn, It was lovely to tour your kennel yesterday, thanks so much!

I'm going to be moving into a house here with a nice yard and would love to have a black and tan long haired puppy when you have one, to be a companion for my Zuka. I loved the way your black and tan girl snuggled up to your neck yesterday. What a sweetie!

Below is a picture of the Audi R8 that we spoke of yesterday.

The REAL interesting news is that they are planning to bring out a DIESEL version of this sports car that will actually be MUCH faster than the current gas version!

Talk soon, Jerry Kroll

Breeders Note: Yes, this is THE famous Jerry Kroll of auto racing

Hello! Me and Koda were passing your house on our way to Monterey, i was telling Koda that his first mommy lived there and that he was born there.

Anywho i thought i would send you some updated pics now that he's 1 year old. right now his favorite thing is to play in the snow.

Hi Dawn,

"Gabriella" or Gabby. is doing great and is already well adjusted to her new home! Everybody she has come in contact with is in love with her and she doesn't leave my side- Will give her your love and kisses and thank you again! Shell

JUST LOVED A LOT! THATS OUR BOY SPUDS...9 MONTHS OLD

Breeders note: " Spuds is not spoiled" ..... Men often resist their wives getting "little rat dogs" , but then become completely smitten with them, and "take over" the Chihuahua. If you're married, expect to have to get two so you don't fight over them ! These ultimate lap dogs are also great at helping people get over serious medical issues, because they love to cuddle and give you sympathy :)

Hello Dawn,

I was going to make Cody an appointment with a vet and you mentioned the name of the one you use in Turlock could you tell me his name? I looked at his shot records but I am not sure of the dates of when I take Cody in so thought I would make an appointment and let the vet help me with that. Cody is doing great and he thinks he is the boss of our Lab they love each other. We call Cody a neck dog not a lap dog because his favorite place to lay his right up snuggled under my chin. He is truly a wonderful little dog.

Thanks, Mary Cotton

Dawns Response: We highly recommend Dr. Brandon Barrett Community Veterinary Clinic , 310 Crane Avenue, Turlock, CA. 95380    209-634-5851  for tiny dogs, and other small or exotic animals.

Hi Dawn,

That's very kind of you, but honestly I was very happy to refer Amy to you. I'm sure I'll be sending others your direction as well since I feel very strongly that you have the happiest little puppies I've ever seen. Bob and I feel very blessed that we found you and Bubba. We can't believe how well Bubba has adjusted and how happy and lovable he is.

He's doing exceptionally well on housebreaking too. We're using the potty pads and a litter box and he goes right to the them when he has to go potty or "messy". Rather than a finders fee, just promise us that when we get our second little puppy, she will be just as wonderful as Bubba. Also, as soon as my daughter moves to a "pet friendly" apartment, promise that you will help select the perfect little puppy for her. By the way, did your pom-chi female have her puppies last night or today and did she have any little girls? Well it's play time again, so I'm going to end this email and go attend to my baby. Thanks again for our newest addition. We love, Love, LOVE him!

Take care Dawn! Nedra Metz

Hello Dawn,

We are loving our Cody and he is being a good boy. He has used his Kitty box and just loves cuddling with us. He fits right in with our family. I have a question for you. We have a sweet black lab that usually comes in the house a few times during the day and lays on the carpet. Is it too soon to introduce Cody to him. I realize we have to be careful with his size but as far as Cody being healthy enough to be near him is that ok?

Thanks for you help, Mary Cotton

Breeders reply:  Vaccinated big dogs shouldn't pass dangerous diseases, UNLESS they track in germs on their feet from a dog park or somewhere.  However you MUST hold the tiny puppy , or the tiny puppy must be on the other side of it's puppy fence or baby gate from big dogs, they're way too fragile to be under foot !

Hi Dawn,

It's Sophia, I just wanted to let you know that Ginger is doing great! She has grown so much already, I cant belive how chubby she is getting, she is really cute! She is so playfull Gets along very well with other dogs and just loves everyone! I tried to get a good pic of her to send to you but she just moves to much! Well take care and if I can ever get a pic of her I will send it to you.

Sophia

Pictures of my new little puppy Zoe, with her best friend hershey
I took her to the vets today and the first thing you hear people always say is "I've never seen a dachshund that looks like this. They loved her there, and all wanted to hold her.

Have a Happy Day,
Janie

Hi Dawn

My name is Debbie and I am Carson's mom who just bought Layla.  Carson was here for a week with her and just left to go back to SF.  She is so adorable and has such a fun and adventuresome personality.  I was sorry to see her go.  She got along great with our standard.  I'm thinking about one of the females black/tan who are three weeks old .  I am leaving for Cabo tomorrow and won't be back until the 27th.  We can talk when I get back, but I really like Layla and if I am going to get one I really want her personality.  I'll talk to you when I return.

Debbie

Hi Dawn,

My family is IN LOVE with her!! She follows me everywhere, she has been so good. Thanks again, we will keep in touch. Oh, on the drive she slept in my arms the entire ride, what a relief!

Hope to hear from you soon ! - Jackie.

Hi Dawn,

I’m looking for the tiniest Chihuahua available. We purchased one from a pet store last December but after 4 days, he was diagnosed with parvo virus. We had him treated for about 5 days but he did not survive. We prefer the short coat and I like the white and grayish black on the picture, the very first one….almost like the size of the palm. I live in Yorba Linda, California, please direct me to the nearest breeder.

Thanks,

Liz

Breeders Note: Please don't buy puppies at pet stores. You might be supporting the parents having miserable caged lives ! I hear these types of sad stories all the time ! Dawn

Thanks again for being such an angel.  Andrew and I were talking last night about how much we love Charlie and Daisy and how glad we are that we have these babies in our life and I told him that i thought that you were an ANGEL cause without you we would not have them ! ! ! ! !

Soooooooooooooooo thanks again. They are soooooooooooooooooooooooo important to us. And now Nessa has her own apartment and has Elliot with her. He is her baby and when she comes to visit she brings him to visit too and he is so excited to see us.

It is all just so neat and wonderful and perfect.......ALL because of you.

Love ya....
Sheila

Hi Dawn,

Jeannie wanted me to send you some more pictures so you would know that Strudel is already spoiled, and that she has definitely brightened up our lives. Although we are enduring sleep deprivation, “Strudie” seems to get all the sleep (and anything else) that she wants...

I “got” the “got dachshund?” T-shirt that Jeannie is wearing from eBay for her birthday in May 2006. I checked today, and it’s not currently offered, but eBay is a great place to find dachshund “stuff”, and you may see that same shirt if you look periodically.

The “Who’s Your Doggy?” shirt that Strudel is wearing, I found months ago in the $1 bin at CVS. I had “bin” saving it for the perfect moment.

In the Christmas morning picture of our daughters Melanie & Melissa, you can see Lissa “modeling” her new dachshund PJs, which came from Victoria’s Secret (online). Jeannie also has a pair.

Well, that’s it for now...

Happy New Year,

Dave and Jeannie Durian

Dawn,

Here's some pics of the little ones.... sooooo precious!!

Breeders Note:puppies born from Stud Service to SNS Little Boy Blue !

Dawn,

It was so nice to meet you -- you are an amazing woman! It was so obvious to both Chris and me that all those little animals are being raised with lots of love. It was fascinating to see them all together and so socialized.

We are having a great time with these two kitties. We renamed the black one so that they are now Sugar and Spice. From the moment they were in the car, they were so sweet and wonderful. There has been no adjustment at all for them, and that's because of the way you raised them.

Rest assured that they will be happy here. I'll send you some photos soon. Thanks for everything.

Have a great day!

Hey Dawn,

Its Tara and Tammy and here are some pics of coco and tiffany they are doing really well they are getting along and playing they are so cute.

Hey Dawn,

Merry Christmas from Bindy Blue!  I have a great home and I am a really good puppy and I think Santa will be bringing me lots of presents!!!

Bindy
(with a little help from my mom, Shirley Thompson)

Chanel is doing great.  My email is still down and getting fixed tomorrow.  Will send photos then.  She is doing great.  Tiffany began to play with her today.  Our home is large and she gets lost, but knows where her safe spot is.  She already took over two new bones and has a new toy.  She is eating very well and did fine on the road home.  She is going potty outside with Tiffany.  She much prefers the bark planters to the lawn.  Tiffany herds her into the house and doesn't let her go where she shouldn't.
Tiffany is still bent out of shape a little, but definitely warming up.  Chanel sleeps with Tara and is sleeping through the night.  Wakes at about 6am to go outside.  She has only wet one time in the house.  Wow!  Everyone adores her, she is precious.  I checked Tiffany's papers and Sky is her father too.  Chanel goes to the vet tomorrow.  Will send cute pics.

Thanks again,
Tammy

Wishing you all a safe and happy holiday season and a fabulous 2008!

xoxo Kelli, Sassy, Tiara, & Violet

Breeders Note: This is a "Cocomo" daughter from a sire service, done by SugarNSpice Chihuahuas!

Yes,... here they are. The "furrier" one with my daughter is spoken for. The one in the Teacup has 3 VERY interested lookers.

The 3rd looks just like Elle and I don't think we'll have trouble finding a buyer. If not, we'd sure like to keep her!

Thank you for all your advice! I tell people about you that ask about the dad!
Rose

Dawn - Got home safe & sound at 6:30 pm. Got the girls settled in my bathroom in an x-pen & litter box. They were very good & hardly made a mess in their crate & never complained the drive home. They are playing & trying to drag the newspaper & their pink blankeys into the litter which they just used. Sorry you all were worried, but Sue had to take one of her rat terriers to the vet & we didn't get out of here until 10:00 & it took us a bit over 3 hrs with the dense fog in the Pocono Mountains. Hope you got my message at 7pm. Will try again after I go out & check the chessies.

Diane, Lovie, & Dumpling

Dear Dawn,

I want  to thank  you for the  time  you  spent  with me today. I  really  learn a lot  each  day  about these  little  guys. I was  pleased to  see  all of  your  wonderful  puppies!  I know how much time and effort it takes  to maintain the  many  critters in my  family  and  I  have  a lot of  respect  for how  much time and hard  work must  go into  running your operation . I was so happy  to  get  a REAL  opinion about  My  Ocsar  and  My  little  Emma.   I  truly  feel that   this  is  something  I  would  really  like  to  pursue.  I do  love   the  little  guys  even though  I  never  thought  I  would  be   a " little  dog "  person.

I  talked  with  my  girls and  they  will decide  if they  want  to  give  up  "their"  puppy  or  come  up  with $400.00 and  get  the  puppy fixed .  I  will have  an answer  for  you   soon  and   then  I will  come  back  by  and   we  can be  finished  with  this  step. I don't want  to  sell any of the puppies until  I  get  all the  registrations worked out and  everyone has their papers.     You have  been  so kind and helpful , I  can't  wait  to   branch  out  and  get  a  few  more   Doxies.and possibly  enter the  show ring  it  sounds like fun  and some of the shows I have looked  at run concurrent  with the show  circuit for my Cow Horses ! I will  keep  you   posted and  let  you know  if  I  can   swing   a  cream . I really  love all the  shades of red  ,( must be  all the  red heads  in my  house)  but I am in no rush .  For now  they  are  still  beautiful  to look at , but then  again I  think they are  all wonderful .

Thank You  once  again!
I will be in touch  soon

Hi Dawn,

I just wanted to thank you for delivering Coco Chanel safely to us yesterday.  Claudia was so wonderful for driving Coco to us so that my daughter could spend the weekend with her!  Coco is doing great and she is delightful.  She is well mannered and trained.  We are so happy to have her part of our family. :-)

Thank you,

Marlene

Hey Dawn,

This looks interesting - I ordered it.  By the way Trinket will be in her first show this weekend.  It is a specialty show in Nashville, TN. Thought you might enjoy seeing these pics of her.

Blessings,

Elaine

Hi , yes I received my puppy and was it ever in fine shape. It was so clean and not any dirty mess on her at all. She was shipped so very nice, actually I was surprised to receive her in such good shape, The vet I took her today said looks like she has been well taken care of. I hope he faxed you her vet report, if he didn't let me know and I will. I renamed her Callie, because she came from California her middle name is pretty lady. Ok? As soon as my granddaughter gets the pictures downloaded I will email them to you. Thanks again for a great puppy. All my neighbors were waiting to see her and everyone loves her. We think she is just beautiful so cute and just wonderful. of course we have already fallen in love with her. Patricia Clemmons

Hi Dawn,
Just a note to let you know that Tootsie, our choc and tan Dachshund, had puppies yesterday.  All good so far.  Two females and Two males.  One female has a bright white strip on her chest, so when I go to submit it to AKC what should I put her down as a Choc and Tan or a Choc and Tan Piebald?

They are out of your stud GH Chocolate Cream Pie.

Thanks,
Joni and Jim Sharp

Hey guys.....
This is what we did yesterday.  We took the doggies and went in the boat up the coast to this little bay......Bahia de las suenuas................Bay of dreams.  They have this restaurant there called the Giggling Marlin.  What a beautiful bay and all of these pongeros take people out fishing and then come in and clean there fish so the pelicans all gather around.  Really cool.  And the boat in the background is Andrew's boat.  Mi Corazon.

Love ya,
Sheila

Hi Dawn,

We celebrated Nutmeg’s first birthday yesterday!  The girls were excited to wrap some dog treats and a sweater for her.  Nutmeg continues to be the attention-getter around here. She gives so much love it’s hard not to stop what you’re doing and give it back.  Of course that’s when she’s not into mischief with the cat Frank, running under the couch with a Barbie or getting a little snack from the kitty litter.  She deserves the name, “Naughty Nutty.”  Of course her naughtiness is why we love her too.  All of us enjoy and love her very much!  Thank you and I hope things are going well for you and all yours.

Thanks again Dawn,
Rod & Trudy Simas and Girls, Nutmeg and Frank

Hi Whisper!
Didn't think Maisy was pregnant until about 1 month then... Whoa! She is huge! She is 12.5lbs today. I estimate her delivery anytime after tomorrow.

I will send you puppy pics as soon as I can after delivery. Can't tell you how excited we are.
The attached pictures are from last weekend at 7.5wks.

You will be hearing from me soon!
Bye for now.

Katherine Ferreyra

Hi Dawn,

I just wanted to give you an update on Tiffy. Well, she is doing Great!! She is such a sweet little dog and so smart. When I take her out for a walk it is like walking down the street with a movie star! Everyone comments on how beautiful she is, her beautiful face, her blond hair! She is truly a celebrity around here. In fact some people would rather see her than me! And she is a wonderful companion and friend. We do almost everything together. She sleeps with me at night and now I don't think I could fall asleep without her in the bed. Once she was playing and I lay down without her and she started jumping about 3 feet straight up in the air to let me know she wanted to get un bed! She is sooooo cute.

I take very good care of her and she is in perfect health and very happy. We are best friends.

I was wondering - does she need another rabies shot next April? Is there anything else she should have? Also, did you ever clip her nails, is that something I should be doing? She grooms her front paws very well and I haven't wanted to intrude by clipping her nails, what do you think?

I am sending you a couple of pictures. Tiffy has such a beautiful smile!

I hope you are doing well.

Take Care,
Susan

Hi, Dawn!

Dony is doing very well over here. He is even better than the day he first arrived in the USA. My brother and I can not thank you enough for taking care of our boy while he was in the able hands of SNS kennel's management.

You have a bunch of show hopefuls there alright and I am sure they each have a bright future in the show ring. Paul can certainly help you with showing them in the Philippines.

Again, THANKS SO MUCH, DAWN! And God bless YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Elmer

Hi Dawn,

I can't believe that we've had Louis V for only 2 months now. He seems like he has always been a part of our family.

He has adjusted very well and is the sweetest little dog! We enjoyed our visit with you when we adopted Louis V and couldn't believe how difficult it was to chose the right puppy. I can say without a doubt, that he was the best choice. I have attached a recent photo of him for you to see.

Thank you again,
Lisa Bradley

Dr. John Sheridan (retired pediatrician) brought a bunch of really cute captioned photos and asked us to post a couple of them of his beloved "Amigo" , that we had named "SNS Blue Sirus Star". Amigo's best friend is a green conure parrot Bubba. Dr. Sheridan brought his auntie Jacquline last Saturday to help her pick a puppy, and she bought our little "Justin" , so now Amigo will also have a Chihuahua to visit and play with:) Dr. Sheridan says that "Amigo" has been an absolute joy to his life and is his constant side kick :) He's such a good boy, so well behaved and friendly to everyone. Gramma Dawn is proud :)

Amigo says "John takes good pictures, I wish someone would teach him how to put on a harness.

Amigo LOVES Bubba (green parrot) . Bubba is not so sure.

Hi Dawn,

Thanks for sending me such a beautiful lil girl....she is a real sweetheart....she warmed up to me right away and has been a honey ever since....Her and Dolce get along great and they are going to be sleeping in the same crate at night......they love each others company...

I will send some pics once i get settled with them etc.

Thanks again for sending me such a darling lil girl
Sam:-)

Hi Dawn,

Just wanted to let you know that Bindy made it home just fine, she protested a little at first in the crate, but then quieted right down. She almost made it home without getting sick but the last 2 miles before my home was a little bumpy and she threw up a little. When we got home she drank some water and I gave her a little Nutri-cal. She settled right in, met the cat, played a little. (I only had a little collar on her for just a short time) I have her ex pen set up in the kitchen and again she protested a little at first, but she learned really fast that if she sat and was quiet she got to come right out and then she settled in and started playing with her toys and chewing on her cow hoof. She ate several times already and used her litter box about 3 - 4 times! What a great puppy! She has made me so happy, I just had to cry when she fell asleep in my arms tonight.

Thank you so much!

I hope your trip to SFO went well... I'll be in touch!

Take care,

Shirley

Dear Dawn,

Here's a picture from our visit to your facility. We can't wait to bring this beautiful, adorable puppy home when she's old enough. Her personality, attentiveness and calm nature won us over - she basically picked us!

Hello Dawn,

I wanted to take the time to say hello and let you know I am FULLY in love and bonded to my son. Valentino (Val) is doing just great. He has adapted to our family wonderfully. He will not leave my side and always has to be on my lab when I am doing homework. He will only sit with my husband when he is home and I am not. It is funny. My husband loves him just as much as I do. He is just the most WONDERFUL thing in my life. I am so happy I got him from you. I have seen other Chihuahua’s that I wonder where they came from as they are just very different than Val. I think you do a WONDERFUL job training them from the time they are born to the time you sell them. I just wanted to say thank you again for giving me the greatest gift I could ever ask for. Val is a wonderful son. Val has adapted to our yellow lab very well. They both will lay together and it is the cutest thing ever. Blake (yellow lab) protects his brother and is the cutest thing. He almost treats him like Val is his son. It is just the cutest thing. They get along so great.

I have a question for you. I am taking Val on his first camping trip and was wondering if these little dogs can swim? I know people say if they have 4 legs they can swim, but I know some can’t. So, I thought I would ask you before I go. I was thinking about getting him a life jacket so he does not try to go out in the swim hole and drown. I know they sell them so I think I will get him one anyway, but I want to take extra precautions so he is safe and I don’t have to worry about him sneaking off without me seeing him do it. Any insight you can give me would be great.

Well, thanks again for giving me the greatest gift of all. I am so happy with him. I had him micro-chipped so he can’t get lost. :) I would be devasted if something happen to him. Thanks again for everything. :)

Hope you have a wonderful day.

Dawn Davidson

Breeders Note: Chihuahuas can swim, but can also get tired and drown, so supervise closely , show them how to get out, and life vests are recommended.

We purchased Pumpkin from you 12-16-06 you told me at that time that we would be coming back to purchase another.

We are looking for a short haired teacup Chihuahua for our Bruno (formally Pumkin) son of Persimmon Cookie father Cody.

We would like for both of Chihuahuas to be the same size. Our Bruno will be 1yr old 09-05-07 and he weighs 4lbs.

We hope to hear from you soon.

Aldo

Dear Dawn,

Just a note to say hello and to tell you once again how delighted we are with Mochi. She's about four pounds now (at seven months) and absolutely beautiful. She's calm, very bright, and extremely affectionate. We couldn't be happier.

Many thanks!
Gail and Glen Lau

Breeders Note: Mochi is a blue merle pom-chi, owned by two retired physicians, as their first ever dog.

Hello,

My name is Lindsay.  I purchased a puppy from you about two and a half years ago.  His name was Crem Bru La.  He has been a joy and a handful.

We recently lost one of our dogs and we are looking for a puppy to add to our family.  Since the experience was good last time, we were hoping you could help us find a puppy that would be a great addition to our brood.  My mother and I would really like to see all of your cute little Chihuahuas.

You can reach me at (XXX) XXX-XXXX.  I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank You,

Lindsay Bacca

Migo

Hi Dawn,

I purchased Toby (now known as Migo) from you last November. He is a wonderful pet, and we love him. I have a question: Migo has spots on his belly; could this be Merle markings? I was just curious.

Thank you again for our wonderful dog. He is such a happy little guy!

Sincerely,
Lisa Bilotta

HI DAWN

JUST TO LET YOU KNOW I TOOK SPUDS TO THE VET FOR ANOTHER SHOT TODAY. THE LITTLE PIG WEIGHS 2.5 LBS. I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT. CAUSE HE DOESN'T  EAT THAT MUCH (I THOUGHT). WE HAD A LITTLE SCARE SUNDAY NIGHT. I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF TAKING MY MEDS FOR THE NIGHT AND I TURNED TO DO SOMETHING AND I LOOKED DOWN AND SAW SPUDS CHEWING ON SOMETHING. AND HE WAS SO FEISTY AND PLAYED WITH CHEETA AND CHASED ALL AROUND. SO LARRY SAID HE DIDN'T THINK HE GOT IT. LARRY LOOKED IN THE MED BOX AND
AT THE BOTTOM OF THE BOX WAS THE PILL. BOY DID I FREAK OUT. MY BLOOD PRESSURE WENT CRAZY.

HE IS DOING SO GOOD, (SPOILED ROTTEN). CHEETA LOVES HIM. SPUDS WILL BE LAYING ON MY LAP AND CHEETA WILL WANT TO PLAY SO SHE WILL GET SPUDS FAVORITE TOY AND JUMP UP ON MY CHAIR AND PUT IT IN FRONT OF HIM. ITS JUST SO CUTE. ANYWAY WE LOVE HIMMMMM SOOOO MUCH

Hello Dawn;

I purchased my baby from you in January of 2006. Her name was Nutmeg, one of the 2 sister chi/poms you had. I love her very much. And she is very spoiled. I am e-mailing you because I would like to breed her at her next heat, which is this month August. What are your policies with your stud service? He doesn't have be a champion, just smaller and sweet, and preferably long hair. Lucy(Nutmeg) weighs 4 1/2 pounds. I look forward to your e-mail. Thank you very much for our Lucy.

Vicky

Dear Dawn,

I was just browsing your site this evening ,as  I  often do, with my babies in my lap and  pointing out their relatives.. I have been giving  a lot of thought  to  expanding our  family .  I have looked at many other  breeders and even in other states and I have not been able to find a kinder  sweeter  face than I have in  my lap .

I know you  sell  a lot  of dogs, I purchased  " snoopy"  now Oscar  and "Sweet Pickles " now know as Emma or "the  princess"   at the beginning of this year . I had raised Bloodhounds  before and  we have never had  a small dog ( not counting Max, my Parsons Jack who is in a league of his own) .

I had  just had  spinal  surgery  and was only  a few days out of the hospital when we  picked up our pups.  I had no  idea how  both of these  events would  change  our family in such  a huge way.  I had  to  give  up  my  Bloodhound  due to the  nerve damage   in my  arm and  shoulder , but  she  went  to  a good friend  who had just lost  her Hound( 11 years old )to cancer. My Bloodhound is  happy with  them  and  I see her  often . But as  for the  hole it  left in my   life  I have  had it full to the  brim  with my  Doxies !

We  go  everywhere  with  them and they  are  great  travelers! The  like  to   go camping and  to the lake.  Emma  loves  to  swim (she has  a life  vest) , Oscar  is  more  of  a beach comber ( he has  a Hawaiian shirt ) .  We used to have  to  kennel our dogs  to  be able to go anywhere, not anymore !  Now  we  get  to  travel more  as a family.  They  have been  a whole new experience  in dogs  for me . Everywhere we go everyone is always impressed. My  vet  is looking  forward to  a litter  of puppies  so he can  snatch one up and  to me that  is  a true compliment. Both of them are  happy and healthy  I am pleased to  report I  got  through the  whole  dog food  crisis and  have  to  echo  your  remarks  about  feeding   quality  to  start with . I have  a friend  who  raises  Pugs  who  was  not  so  lucky. I wish I  could  say  I have  shown them or  done anything  constructive  besides  love them . My Vet  has  urged me  to  pursue  the  show ring  with  them  both  many times, but  time is  short  around here and  I  have  the   horse show  circuits  to contend with .

I  will enclose  a  photo  or two  of them  for  you.  I am looking  for  another  little girl ( or two)  in  a black  and  tan or  red .  When I  came  to  get  Emma   you had  a fine  looking  black and  tan  female  there and  I  really  thought  she  was  lovely.  I can not  remember her name  but  she  had  just  arrived  if  she  has  had  any  puppies  I  would like  to  see them.

I  still  owe  you  a puppy  to  close our  deal and  get  the  papers  for  Emma   I  have  not  forgotten. She  had  her  first  heat in  July  and  We  had  lock  down  security  around the  clock  here,  so  I am looking  forward  to  breeding  her  on  her  second  heat in  the late  winter ......Oscar  has  really  turned out  to  be  a  fine  gentleman  he  seemed  a little  high  strung  and  shy  in  the beginning but  has proven himself  to be  one of the most  cuddly  loving  souls  I have  had  the  pleasure  of  keeping  company  with. And  he is  all BOY   he struts  around proud as  can be  and when  we are  out he is quite the  show off .

Emma has turned out  to be  the  most  charming  young lady   very confident and sure of  herself . She  has  more  pronounced dappling on her ears and  back the older she gets  but not  quite  blue .She  is  spoiled  rotten by  my  husband  who always claimed " dogs live outside!"  now he never goes  to bed  without  them  tucked  in with  him. Even the  new  travel trailer  we bought  had  to be  dog  approved  before  he  would  take it  off  the  lot .

I am  so  pleased  with  them both  and  our  whole  family  has  been on board  for  having  a  few  more   in our  home.  I  of course   Still wish  to  continue  with plans  to  breed  them  and look forward  to  helping  more  people  enjoy   the  breed  as  we  do.  So  keep and eye  out  for  a  good  match  for  me and  let  me know  if  you  have  some  little  girls  that   would  fit  nicely  here.

Thanks  again,
Julianne Price

Dawn,

My name is Genavieve Ledbetter. I purchased a an Isabella dappled smooth
coat from you almost two years ago (I believe you had named him Stevie
Wonder) and I couldn't have been happier with my purchase. He has the
perfect temperament and most adorable boyish charm. Now I find myself in love
with dachshunds and with the need for another! However, I fear that what I
am looking for is near impossible to acquire. My dream dog would be smooth
coat chocolate, preferably a female. After months of randomly searching the
internet I have yet to come across anything with these characteristics.
There are many chocolate long haired, but no smooth coat. So I am asking...
is this type of dog impossible to breed?

Though I will not be able to purchase the dog for approx. another year,
given the difficulty of finding what I want I have decided to contact you
hoping that if you ever come across something close to my desired dog that
you may contact me. I promise you I will want it!

Please keep me in mind for all upcoming litters within the next year. Also,
I would love to hear back from you about the possibilities of me even
finding such a dog.

Thank you again!

Hi Dawn,

Just wanted to send a quick note to let you know that I have switched our dogs to the Life Abundance and they love it. It is really great food. I also have them on the olive leaf extract in the water and that seems to be working well. I have a doxi that has seizures and he is on the enzymes. So far it has been 14 days and he is doing good. He normally has seizures every three to four months.

I am hoping the enzymes helps him not have any. I know that Claudia has a doxi that has seizures so if she wants me to update her on how this is helping my little doxi I can? I have attached a pic of Bella. She is so cute. She has learned to run around her playpen very fast and she loves to hop hop hop!!! She is really fun to watch. She love’s Bonnie the one with the short blond hair all the tattoos. Bonnie goes and checks on her during the day when they are away at work. She plays with her for a hour or so and then Bella falls fast to sleep. She is spoiled that is for sure. She has some cute clothes and lot’s of toy’s just like grandma ordered.

I hope all is well with your mother-in-law. Take care!

Rosemarie and Bonnie
Bella’s aunties

Breeders Note: FREE Samples of Life's Abundance www.healthypetnet.com/dawndalyce We won't feed ANY store brands anymore. The contamination risk and rates is just way too high!

My dogs love it too.  I am so glad that you told me about "Life's abundance." I have told lots of others about it too.

Hughes

Breeders Note: FREE Samples, save your pets from contaminated brands! Watch the online video !

http://www.healthypetnet.com/dawndalyce

Dogs LOVE it and eat way less, and feel satisfied, and glow !

The thing that amazes me is although you have a lot of dogs and puppies, they are each connected and happy, you can tell they have been loved on and given individual attention.

We visited and spoke on line to a few show Maltese homes....they warehouse dogs...the ones I connected with didn't give the dogs much attention....they seemed to be maladjusted (the dogs) like they spent a lot of there lives being ignored. Kind of sad, and because I have seen your dogs and operation , I know it is possible to have a lot of dogs and raise them with connections and personality.

So I just don't get it why these people do this....We did find a hobby breeder in LA that my son got a nice playful 12 week Maltese puppy. It is not show quality but honestly who cares as long as it is healthy and happy .

Thanks,
Becky

Hi Dawn,

I need to look at the emails you sent me at home; I don’t always check my home email. I’m sure you sent this to me but I can’t find it. When are the babies due for the frontline? Heartworm? They are doing fine by the way, so energetic, just like having small babies but so cute. The pictures didn’t do them justice, the pictures were cute, but they are so much cuter in person. I’ll send you updated pictures soon. I’ll just be glad when they are a little more cuddly. Right now they are just too busy to want to stay in your lap for a period of time. They are starting to use the litter pan more but we still have a way to go. My cats are adjusting to them better than I thought but the puppies do like to chase them. Snickers is so fast and poor little Peanut can’t catch her but he tries :o) Take care!

Hi Dawn,

Its Carley, the girl who bought tanner, sorry I haven't e-mailed you yet, i have been so busy taking care of the little guy!!!

I wanted to let you know he is having a great time, and it getting lots of love from my family.....my mom adores him!

We are spoiling him just like you said too! The first couple nights home he cried when it was time to go to sleep but he's getting better now! I just wanted to thank you so much! Have a great day!!

THANK YOU

Carley Watson

P.S. I'll be sure to send you some pictures of tanner and the family as soon as I get them on the computer!

Hi Dawn

Well its been one week and spuds is doing great. He has met the family and friends and has just had a ball. They said not to spoil him but how Do you not spoil him. Lol he is doing real good on his potty training. There are mistakes but to be expected. He is a smarty. I have one problem. He doesn't like his dog food. I went and bought bil jac and he eats a little of that (hand fed). Do you have a suggestion? Cheeta has finally started playing with him more. She is having a problem today.

Though, her hip is bothering her, so she is a little grouchy at him. He Really understands it when she growls at him. He has a vet appt tomorrow afternoon. I have to take a poop sample to check for worms. I don't think he does. I need to order some more of those chew bones. He just loves them. So does cheeta. Anyway, here are Some more pics taken during his first week with his new family.

I am not sure what papers you were talking about to send you. Maybe you can explain to me. Are they in his folder?

Any we are so pleased to have picked spuds. He is a very smart and Happy puppy. He loves the grass, he just scratches his tummy across the grass and bites at the grass . Its so funny to watch him. He stays pretty close without the leash, i am glad for that.

We have taken him into 3 restaurants so far with no problems. He just lays down in his Little purse and sleeps while we eat.

Thank you again for our baby. He is just the ticket we ordered.
There should be 18 pics.

Talk to you soon

Dawn,

Got the puppies! They are just the most adorable looking Chihuahua babies ever!

I was so impressed at the manner in which they arrived! The kennel was a resort for them while traveling, I'm sure!

They are loving the house, running around with their tails wagging! I will send pictures later today!

Thanks again for everything!!!
Stacie

Hi Dawn,

We just got back from the vet and the girls passed with flying colors.  They are adorable and love their new back yard.  We've been having a lot of fun with them.  My 10 year old grandaughter went with me to pick them up and spent the day giving them lots of snuggles.  She was thrilled to be part of their arrival..  I will email you some pix as soon as possible.

Elaine

Here's a small clip, my card was full and I had to download. They are the cutest babies I've ever seen. They were cute in the pictures but even more adorable in person. We couldn't be happier.

Snickers was a little more shy than Peanut at first but she's doing better now. Peanut is just wide open, both adorable.

Hi Dawn,

They arrived right on time. You are right, they are BEAUTIFUL! Thank you so much.

More later, Elaine

Hi Dawn,

Yes, I am the one who came with my neighbors today.....I am so excited I got tanner! He is so adorable! your Pet Resort is fantastic, I love it! Thank you so much!

Carley

Dawn,
A few photos of Joyful Noel (Bentley) and Sleeping Beauty (Gracie).
My neighbors are so excited to get Cheechoo and Tanner from you!

Thank you,
Lori

Hi Dawn

I just thought i would get these pictures sent off to you. Larry and I really enjoyed the day with spuds and his pals and you. We can't wait to bring him home to share our love and companionship with him and Cheeta. Cheeta just had a field day smelling our clothes when we came home. Anyway here are the pictures. Please let me know if you got them. I am never sure if i do it right or not. And being its 5 minutes to 1 am my eyes are a little blurry.  If I sent you the wrong ones let me know also.

Take care see you in a couple weeks

Gail

Thanks for all of your advice, I wish I would have purchased from you instead, oh well live and learn. Thanks again!

Thomas

Thank you and yes I know now :( I'll organize what I have, here are some links of the dogs she's claiming for her own. The resemblance in amazing, because she finally sent the dog to me 4 to 5 months later, but with no papers of course. He's gorgeous Chi now, after I put him on a diet and he lost 1 & 3/4 lbs, got his baby teeth removed (he was almost a year old when I got him) and gave him his shots. But like I said he's worthless now without his papers. I'm determined to place him in a good home though, because he is a wonderful dog.

The first one is her site.

The second is her webshots

Thanks.

Breeders Note: PS. I am not in Canada, my address is below. You're welcome to come visit us ,and see the actual dogs or parents in our photos :) (unless they're sold ones of course....but then you can often see pix of them on our "Letters" pages, in the homes of our buyers or the show ring)

I think you got scammed. Next time be sure you are invited to see the pups and parents at the breeders home, and all the dogs they own and how they live...... and best to work with a US breeder, as it's much harder to prosecute or sue out of the country...

This is the best place to get a family pet our just one for your self, never been in one that was so clean, all dogs where so clean, warm in winter cool in summer, she has all most any thing you want, and she will not let you take them in tell there ready, there hole family helps, with these pets, but they have all of them name.

I don’t know how they do it but they know each mom, dad, dog and babies. Keep up the good work. We will see you soon. you must go check it out before you buy from any one, to see how awesome this place is. We are looking for a bid dog know and when the time comes we will get from dawn and family. Debbi Jerome, I got a long hair Chihuahua. in Feb 2007 and love her so much.

Hello Dawn,

Sorry I have not been able to answer my email for a while there was an issue with my computer but I am back up an running know.

Scooby is doing great. His new name is "Buddy" he is very sweet and the whole family just adores him. He took a real liking to my son Gabriel and is getting along very well with our older dog "Buster" who is 6 and "Saddie" who is just a week younger than him. He has been a great addition to our family.

He has a great personality he is very loving. He loves toys. We get him a new toy every time we visit the pet store.

Dark cream dapple male -Born 4/20/07
He can also stand on his hind legs for a long time which the other 2 can not do he makes us all laugh when he is dancing on his back legs.

We too were very concerned with the pet food recalls we immediately checked the websites to ensure we did not have any contaminated dog food and were very relieved when we were able to rule out that we did not purchase any contaminated food.

I attached a picture of "Buddy" and "Saddie" taking a nap on their favorite blanket.

Thank you so much.

Carrie

Awww, I have my baby!! What a doll! I named her Annie. She is just the most loving lil thing, cuddles in my neck, just like I wanted. I forgot to ask if she has papers.

Rob said that I just have to come out to the ranch to see all of your pets, he was amazed at how well kept they are and darling! That's coming from a guy and that says something!!! So we'll set up a time to come visit when you have time.

Maggie is howlin again, day and night. Wish I could breed her, but wouldn't take the chance at her age.

Thanks again for my lil Annie!
Ter

Hi Dawn.

I’ve been wanting to write you for some time but since the new year our life has been full. Rod had to have surgery in Redwood City to control his atrial fibrillation that was out of
control earlier this year. Anyway, each and every moment, good and bad we have enjoyed our little Nutmeg. She is full of personality; a little lover, spicy, naughty, athletic and a
patient playmate. So many times the Girls have said “how did you know to pick the very best one?” That’s how Rod and I feel too. She’s just something – we love her a lot.

She loves us J, to pick on and be with Frank (our cat), picking out toys from her basket, playing ball, following blowing leaves and flying insects… Come 9:00 p.m. she is completely
sacked out on the couch until I take her up to her bed.

Once she was about 2-3 months a hawk flew down low to take a look at her. I quickly swept her up. I was wondering if now that I think she’s full size if that’s a problem anymore in
your opinion? We are with her at all times outside but wanted to add a “doggy door” for her and Frank to go out at will.

Thanks for “Nuts”. Here are some pictures.

Hi Dawn! this is Lauren, I spoke to you yesterday and mentioned that I had bought my puppy Rocco from you, he was previously named Shakespeare, I bought him last year.

I'm sending you some pictures of him so you can see how cute he is! He has
quite a personality, you will notice that in the pictures! He is totally spoiled by me and my boyfriend, he is definitely a momma's boy! I'm hoping to soon get another baby from you soon.

Thank you much!

Dear Dawn:

Enclosed please find some pictures of "Peaches" as she grows older and matures.

She is a delightful dog, well mannered, and a great companion. Loves kids and attention.

She remains small (3.5 lbs) and very "cute". (Or so the girls tell me)

I feel really lucky to care for her.

As you are aware, she remains unspayed, despite my fathers protestations, and in the future I will be interested in breeding her.

Her canine beauty is derived from the fact that she remains small, and to preserve that trait, I would be interested in breeding her with smaller Stud.

She has undergone her first oestrus.

Just thinking ahead.

Thank you again for such a great dog. The pictures tell it all.

Chip

Breeders Note:   Dr. Chip is a human surgeon at Davis, and his father Dr. Eck is a Veterinarian from San Jose area who's visited us, and referred several family members, office staff and customers to us.

Hello Dawn,

This Marcello again, I just wanted to give you an update on Artie.  He will be 15 weeks tomorrow and he never runs out of energy.  He is very smart, He is completely paper trained now and just learned sit and lay down.  He will be getting his next set of shots this week.  I was wondering when is the right time for him to get neutered?  The vet said that he can get his shots and be neutered on the same day.  Would you advise this?  Also when would he be ready to use Advantage and if so, how much of a dose.  Well I hope to hear from you soon and I will be sending you pictures soon.

Sincerely,

Marcello Lagosh.

Breeders Note:
This is another little Pom-Chi , who was called "Ace".

Dear Dawn,

I've been meaning to send you pictures of Bailey, and it's taken me this long.  Bailey is a year old (April 14) and weighs about 11 pounds... a VERY big boy!  Note his feet in one of the pictures.  He's a beautiful cat, and I was trying to get a couple of good pictures to send you.  He loves his toy mousies, and has learned to fetch them, all on his own!  There's a picture of that, enclosed, too.

Thanks for my beautiful cat!!!

BREEDERS NOTE: We raise Ragdolls , Angora Dolls, Exotic Angoras , and Exotic Ragdoll kittens occasionally too :) See pix on our webshots albums, follow the links to Available Puppies to find our kitten albums.

Hi Dawn,

Tiffany is here!! We picked her up at Newark, no problem. She is so beautiful and so well behaved, she is a wonderful dog. And so sweet, just like you said! I did not realize she was a blond, I don't think I have ever seen a blond dog before (not counting Goldens).

She is really gorgeous!! I am so happy! She is just the sweetest little thing!! I will be taking her out to get a raincoat and a harness, I would like to get her used to walking on a leash - a little at a time of course (even though I love carrying her) I want to walk her so I can show her off, she is so beautiful. Well I guess I can't say enough about her, I know we will be best friends for a long, long time.. You don't have to worry - I will love her and take care of her for the rest of her life.

Thank You so much Dawn, for helping me get the right dog. Tiffany really is perfect for me.

I found her rabies tag and shot record.

I just took a picture of us together, I'll send it over the weekend.

Susan

Hi Dawn,

I know that we haven't spoken in a while but I'm always looking at the web site and admiring all the puppies.

I hope all is well. Everyone here is just fine. Tia is going to be 3 and weighs 4 pounds, Darla is going to be 2 and weighs 5.5 pounds.

Tia just recently had to have her teeth cleaned because she was developing tartar. The vet suggested giving her Virbac C.E.T. Enzymatic Oral Hygiene Chews for dogs. I wanted to check with you to see if you think they are ok to give her.

I'm also grateful to you for informing me, when I first got my babies, to feed them Royal Canine. The dog food contamination problem is so scary.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
Have a nice day.

Judi, Tia & Darla

BREEDERS NOTE :
SWITCH NOW ! Royal Canine IS on the recall ! As well as the Diamond , and Natural Balance I was feeding !!

I've switched to "Life's Abundance" you have mailed to you fresh ! It's the BEST and no wheat, corn, soy, rice protein or anything imported ! No mold or fungus from staying a year in trucks and warehouses !

It's NOT more expensive, the dogs eat less and you have less vet bills ! Plus you save the gas going to a pet store to pick it up ! And mine attacked it like it was tri tip !

I'm getting in 2000 pounds tomorrow if my local customers want to pick some up from me ! See the video on this website, to see what is NOT supposed to be in pet foods, but is ! Shocking ! No more trusting big brands ! Also you can compare the big brands on this site, and order.

We need help distributing this delicious, safe, holistic pet food , if anyone wants a part time home business! There is also liquid oral care that removes and prevents plaque and more.

Call Dawn 209-613-1952 if you need food or help ! Or want to help let people know what to switch to !

Hi Dawn,

Here are some pictures we took of Lola, we will send better ones soon. She is doing great! She gets along great with her brother Charlie! She went to the Vet for a check and she is a whole 2lbs. and just perfect. I was wondering if you know when she had the frontline? So I know when she is due again. I got your e-mail about the dog food and sent for a sample pack (she has quite the appetite). Having a little trouble training her, but we will get there!

Talk to you soon,
The Trabucco's, Charlie and Lola
P.S. We decided to keep her name ,the kids really liked it!

Hi Dawn!

I purchased your "Wishbone" (now George) about a year ago. I just wanted to
give you an update on how he is doing.

He is a gorgeous, healthy, loving, playful dog. Everyone that meets him
instantly falls in love with him and wants to know who his breeder was.

He loves chasing his toys and going for hikes in the old growth forest with
me. For tiny legs, he can make it a long way!

I couldn't be happier with my "dog-son". I have attached some pictures so
that you can see how handsome he grew up to be! :)

Ciao,

Suzanne

Good Morning Dawn.

I just wanted to take a moment to say “Thank you” for being such a wonderful person. My cousins and I really enjoyed seeing all the puppies and being able to see what kind of facility you have with your breeding program and all the kids you have. It was very enjoyable for all of us. I am very grateful that I had a chance to meet you and the best part, being able to purchase one of your wonderful puppies. He is very handsome and very loved. He is spoiled already. He has slept in our bed with us the last 4 nights just so he can get used to us. But starting tonight, I am going to allow him to sleep in his crate so he can get used to that. I worried about him the whole time he slept with us, I want him to start sleeping in his crate and getting used to a crate. I want him to be comfortable with his surroundings and his new home. He is adjusting so well. He has opened up and plays with us and our lab, Blake. Val is copying everything that Blake does. It is the cutest thing. I hope that Val will learn from Blake, making training a little easier. He tends to follow Blake wherever he goes. Val has the greatest personality that I could ever ask for. He really seems to get along well with one another. I think our lab will take him under his wing with ease. I will take some pictures of the two of them playing and send you some of the pictures. He is the greatest gift I could ever have asked for. I am so happy with him. Thank you so much for taking the time to talk to us and educate us a little more.

I have another question for you, do I need to send in the registration papers in for Val? I did not see a registered name for him on that paper you gave to us, so I was wondering if we need to make up a name for him and send the paperwork in? I was not sure as I know we were kind of rushing you and I am sorry. Let me know if there is anything I need to do with the paper work you gave to me so I can get that taken care of right away. Thanks for your time, as always. See you later. :)

Hope you have a wonderful day.

Dawn Davidson

Dear Dawn,

The Raw Instinct, I should have clarified, it the kibble kind.  I know there are raw meat patties too, but I don't do that.  I understand your comfort and I may try making the switch this summer...your's does sound very safe.

I don't even want to imagine my little "Bunner" on IVs! We call her Sunner Bunner, sometimes just Bunner for short. Or Sunshine Marie when she is being sassy. And I have to say, she is hilarious...not like any other dog I have ever met! The other day, my dad scolded her by say "no" firmly and putting up his pointer finger. She stopped shredding newspaper momentarily, just long enough to jump on his lap and with her little paw, put his finger down and jumped off to continue shredding paper!!! Like, "ummm, excuse me, you're really not trying to TELL ME what to do are you?" (She only shreds paper or does something naughty when she is not getting the attention, she feels she deserves, like while we are cooking dinner!)

We were hysterical inside, so he tried scolding her again, and sure enough...climbed up his lap, gently put his finger down, and went on her merry little way...WHAT A STINKER!

One day Dawn, I am going to get her a sister from you! I know I had looked into Cinderella, but the timing was not right. I just got engaged, and well, we're saving our $dinero$!

Thanks, Mandy

Dear Dawn,

Since I wouldn’t be meeting you in person here are a few pictures of Destiny and my two kitties to let you see a little something about us. The one with our Siamese cat Angel is a little blurry but you can see how we hold our pets, like babies :o)

Dear Dawn,

Juwell is arrived safely to Denmark and enjoying her new home, she is so sweet and happy. I hope everything is fine.

Warm Regards, Sisse

Dear Dawn,

I never told you this, but I am SO VERY happy that I insisted and brought my girlfriend Gail also (she almost didn't come when I came looking last saturday because she fell in love w/ Mochi even BEFORE I saw Gucci...and my husband & I cannot be happier that she ALSO bought a pup from you ! It's like "HAPPINESS LOVES COMPANY" and now we are "Partners" in our new great adventure!

So glad you had a good selection for us to choose from. Kudos to you !

Love, Michelle

Dear Dawn,

Sorry we haven't written you, both my sister and I have been really busy. The puppies are great and they are getting so big. Lady is smaller than Squirt by a lot but Lady is definitely the dominant one. We bought them cute little outfits, mostly Lady though and a bunch of toys. We bring them everywhere, they love going with us. Lady will even hop in her purse when she knows we are going to go. Anyway, I attached pictures of them.

Jaimee Leigh/Ashley Marshall

Breeders note: Much loved and spoiled Pom-chi's.

Dear Dawn,

Here are some pics! I named her Callie since she is from California. She is doing great, playing all the time. She has adjusted really well!

Dear Dawn,

We are absolutely thrilled with the soon-to-be new additions to our families!  Both Bella & "Creamy" are just adorable, Bella's personality plus and Creamy's still young, I was pleasantly surprised by Creamy's frisky barking towards the end of our visit.  The most important thing is that all your pups and dogs look vibrant and happy!!  What a good variety of choices of dogs you have there, not to mention the iguana, turtle, roosters and all!

Gail & I both want to thank you for spending the time with our husbands and my son this afternoon.  Today turned out to be a wonderful and successful day for everyone :-)  We believe we made the right choices today, (this truly feels like an adoption) and are looking forward to any news or progress reports you may have of our new pups during the next 4 weeks.  Kindly email us.

Even though we have to be patient and wait, time flies and now we have something wonderful to look forward to bringing our new puppies home next month.

See you on Sunday 4/22 and please keep in touch!

Cheers,
Michelle Louie & Gail Lau

Hi Dawn!

Oh My Gosh! How precious is she!! She is doing great, she is sleeping on me right now. She is really tired from the trip. We took a nap, she is still napping. She is sooo cute! Everyone loves her, they can't get over how cute she is! She is so sweet and smart! She just follows you around everywhere you go! By the way, that is funny you said that about Burger King. When I was eating a hamburger for lunch and she went crazy for it!

I read your e-mail after I ate, I realized then why she did that. Too Funny! I did find the papers. I have an appointment with the vet tomorrow. She does have her first round of shots right? What is Drontal? She had a little diarrhea this morning, but she has not gone potty since then. She drank a little water this morning, but hasn't wanted to eat anything yet. Have you been wetting the food? She is definitely pre-spoiled. She loves for me to hold her and loves giving kisses.

I love to watch her run around, she looks so cute when she runs! She has the best personality! I'll give her kisses for you and send you some pics soon!

Lauren

Hi Dawn,

Dawn thanks for showing us the dogs yesterday, I appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule.

After visiting your kennel, I can say I truly love Chihuahua's! They are so expressive, especially when they see you. The majority of them have great dispositions.

Maybe someday I'll get a good breeding bitch and try my hand at breeding, what a great dog, more people would love the Chihuahua if they had the chance to meet some of yours.

I have a couple questions.

You mentioned that you might be able to sell Gracie for me. Please explain the details.

I'm really interested in Lassie's litter. Can you please keep an eye on the girls in this litter for one that might be show quality. I remember all three were extra special. If you are out there taking pictures can you get pictures of the girls. How much are you going to ask for them, I'll need to know since it may influence my pricing on Grace if I have to sell her instead of returning her to the breeder.

Do you think Donovan would be a good cross for Merrie, should I decide to breed her?

Sincerely,

Kim Gattis

Hi Dawn,

Hope all is well. We were just wondering what kind personalities Bubba's parents have. He is such a great dog. He is already very independent and his self-confidence seems to grow daily. You don't have to respond to this if you're really busy, we are just trying to understand him more.

Thanks for your time
Ron

Breeders note:  Bubba is from MPV Tortilla Tia by SNS I Want The Prize Cody and was called "Candy Cane" as a baby by breeders due to his red and white longcoat pattern.

Hi Dawn

I wanted to email you a few current photos of Blues Clues (now known as Gabriel) as he approaches his first birthday. He has been the biggest joy in my life, and has turned out to be the SWEETEST thing in the world. He still kisses like a bandit (oral fixation, or what?), and he loves to be kissed in return.

He cuddles with me all the tome, and loves to play with every dog he meets. He can't understand when everyone doesn't love him (he's an aggressive player, but never harmful. He just always wants to play with every dog, and doesn't realize not everyone is as open as him).

He plays and plays and plays (what a handful), still such a puppy, and at least every human loves him to death (but he's mine). He's even brought my mother's and sister's 8 year old Chihuahuas a bit of their youth back. He gets them to play like they used to when they were younger. Thank you for him!!

Hi Dawn,
I went home to see my family last week. On my return and while i was at the airport in charlotte, a woman, who was trying to get on my flight to go back to Los Angeles, came up to me asking about my little dogs and their carrier. We were talking about dogs, and i was bragging about my breeder (you) and she was bragging about hers.

I was just getting ready to tell her about you when she said well i got my dog in northern California and i asked from who and she said, Dawn Dalyce. Ha ha we had the same breeder. It was great. I told her she should get another dog, cause 2 was easier than one. She said she was thinking about it and would go back to you.

I wish i could remember her name. She was young maybe early 30's???, longer very dark hair and eyes and cute glasses, thin, maybe 7' 7" ish. I know her dog was a female. Anyhow, thought it was a good story to share with you. Hope you are doing well.

Ann

Dawn,

Thank you Dawn for letting me pick up the puppies and see all your dogs on Monday. It was nice to meet someone else that cares to send there puppies to a new home with so much love. I to have a paperwork packet, a blanket, food and an pet taxi I send home with every puppy. So it was every nice to find another breeder that does that to.

We love the puppies they made the trip well. I will not talk to my friend about the male, Valentino, until later this week. In a way I hope he don't want him. I would like to keep him myself , he is very sweet and easy to get along with.

Hi Dawn,

My name is Brenda Coghe and I had bought a Isabella Merle Chihuahua back on Sept. 30, 06. I have meant to contact you sooner to keep in touch with you. I have a few questions about my dog. But first, we have named our dog Daisy. We LOVE her to death. She is the sweetest dog. She loves my kids and plays with them all the time.

I have received many complement on how nice and friendly my Chihuahua is. My first question is, I want to get her fixed but the vet said to wait until she turned 6 months. Time seemed to pass by and now she is 8 months old and in heat. The vet said she'll be in heat for 8 weeks . Is that how long it really takes? She has been in heat for about 3 weeks now and has stopped bleeding. But she is still swollen in the private area and my male (not fixed ) dogs are still going crazy. What do I have to expect.?

Second question, Daisy if very picky eater. It seems like she barely eats anything. She does weight 6 pounds so I know she is eating something. What do you suggest on the feeding?

Thanks for taking time out to read my email I would love to hear back from you.

Brenda

p.s. you might remember: the Isabella we bought had a over bit. I'm not sure if that is the correct term. Her bottom jaw did not grow out all the way.

Dawn,

Hi, I am looking for another chihuahua. I would like a long coat AKC show quality female. I purchased one from you last February and she is doing great! We have been showing and she seems to really enjoy it. I saw one on your website, icecubes or something similar. Can you please send me a list and pictures of what you have available that fits my needs. I would like to get an idea before I come over to see them. Thanks I look forward to hearing back from you.

Hi Dawn,

I can't believe that it's been two weeks since we came and got Fredo. We have had a great time with him. He is such a sweet baby and when we go out in public he is like a Rock Star. People just can stay away, they have to come over and see his sweet little face. I can't tell you how many people are surprised when I tell them that he is a Chihuahua. The long haired
babies are the best kept secret.

My boys are having so much fun with Fredo. I am very proud of them. They have been helping with his everyday care and they are extremely gentle with him. I think Fredo will be there best friend for the rest of his life.

Thank you for such a beautiful little boy.
Jill

Here is a picture of my boys!

Hello Dawn,

I will look forward to seeing the pictures and again Dawn thanks so much for being the kind of breeder you are.  It tells me that you truly care about your dogs and also you have a lot of pride in them.  I will try very hard to represent you always in the ring to best of my abilities and present your dog with pride, and outside the ring always in a very positive light.

Thank you.

Hi Dawn.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to show us all your beautiful puppies. My mom and I were very impressed with how clean and happy all your dogs were. I will check back with you for a female long haired Chihuahua.

Thank you.
Best, Sandy

Hi Dawn,

just a quick line to let you know the pup is doing great. He is healthy, happy and full of energy. He has been a blessing to our family, we can't believe how much we love him already. Thank you for the way you care for your dogs, it makes a all the difference in the world . We think we are going to call him" Bubba" because of his attitude and self-confidence. I have a friend who is interested in an Australian Sheppard pup. Do you know of any good breeders who raise those dogs? Anyway, we won't ramble, we will keep you updated on his progress and e-mail you some pics.

Thanks again,
Ron & Linda Gate

Hi Dawn,

Just quickly want to share that Licorice got best of breed in the last allbreed show this weekend.

Cheers!
Paul

Good Morning Dawn, Our new baby "Lacey" is adorable, and had a very good night! Laela loves her too, and they play very well together. Lacey has her new puppy check this morning with our vet. Will be in touch later today.

Thank you again, Joni

Breeders Note: Glad you took my advice, and everyone has extra smiles this morning. Dogs are much happier with at least two in a pack, and you'll have daily delights watching them play tug wars, and tag, and I've got it try to get it ! :) Gramma Dawn

Hi Dawn,

I wanted to let you know that our little girl is doing wonderful, she will have her first birthday on the 19th of this month. She is so much a part of our family. I did want to ask you though your thoughts on how to break a bad habit that she has developed. I know we have spoiled her, on weekends and evenings if we go somewhere, she always goes with us. But, when we leave her alone at home she has started to chew the furniture and the base boards. We scold her for doing this, and she knows she has done something bad, but she continues to do this. Please advise what we need to do to break her of this.

I have attached a picture so you can see our little girl! You should be very proud, she is beautiful!!

Thank you,
Joni

Breeders Note:
Gorgeous photo !! Of you guys too ! Thanks for sending it !

This is how Laela is trying to let you know you need a second dachshund ! She's a pack animal..and she is lonely.... and she's trying to let you know..she's been good and hasn't gotten a puppy, so she'll try being bad, and see if that works !

She probably needs more interesting exercise, like long walks on a leash...to see the world... and
you could try other more interesting chewies.... cow hoofs, peanut butter inside a small kong toy, a beef knuckle...that might distract her for awhile... a buddy would be better :) Dawn

Dear Dawn,

I just wanted to thank you again for our adorable Chihuahua. He is the sweetest, most loving little guy. He is litter-box trained (for the most part), and he has the a wonderful personality. He is very cat-like, and is quite the climber. I purchased a pet gate to confine him when we are not home, and he climbs right over it. He also climbs right up the side of my bed when he wants extra attention. My kids love him, and they fight over who gets to feed him. He loves our two cats and our Labrador, and he is constantly trying to get them to play with him.

Here is a recent photo of Migo. He pulls our socks out of the laundry hamper and takes them to his doggy bed.

I will gladly refer you to anyone I hear about who wants a Chihuahua puppy.

Regards,
Lisa Bilotta

Hi Dawn,

I am happy to report to you that Taffy is doing well.

Last Saturday night, when I came home with him, I set up a 3x4 ft pen, with
a dog bed, lots of newspaper as liner, a pooper pad. The last few days, I
have left the door to his pen open, he is free to roam the first floor. I
think he is 75 % house trained, but occationally he misses the poop pad.

He does follow me around, his favorite game is Tug-O-War. He has a big dog
chew toy (6 inches in length) and a small dog chew toy (3 inches in length).
His favorite toy is the little dog chew toy. He's also got a nylon rope
to pull on, as well as "Hartz Dental Rawhide Munchy Twisters (All Natural)"
and of course my right hand, which he likes to chew and bite on when we
play. He tends to appropriate things from the first floor of my townhouse
(he has not learned to climb stairs yet) and drags them into his pen.

He sometimes barks, and sometime growls, he cries once in awhile. He likes
to dig, He tears paper to pieces. While he's in his pen, he likes to move
things around. Emotionally, he has tons of personality, he runs the
spectrum of being very passive to very aggressive (typical pup dog).

At night he has been sleeping with me for the last 4 days.

It has taken me a week to find a good local vet, Taffy will go in for his
first checkup tomorrow.

On the down side, I leave him alone for at least 8 hours Monday through
Thursday, and 6 hours on Friday. I have been leaving the TV on during this
time. Any suggestions concerning this issue?

I include a picture of Taffy in his pen, I will get you another, with him
and me together within a couple of weeks.

Regards and best wishes,

Scott Dalzell

Hi Dawn,

I haven’t written in a while but wanted to touch base and let you know how my Biscotti is doing. I have told you before just how wonderful he is and he just keeps getting better. This little guy has absolutely the best personality ever. He is a clown and such a delight. I just can’t tell you how much joy he continues to bring to my life. He is, of course, absolutely spoiled rotten. We have two other dogs besides Biscotti and he has become the “ruler” of the roost. My boy has a non-stop case of “happy tail”. I have never seen a dog who is so happy all the time and I just adore him. Now that I am back to work, he scolds me every evening when I come home – just so that I know he is displeased that I left him all day. Of course, he is not alone as dad is home with him. Now that he is home with dad during the day, he is becoming more affectionate with him. When I first brought him home, he really didn’t want anything to do with other people besides me. He still is not a dog who will go to anyone he doesn’t know and even with friends, he tolerates them but doesn’t make up to them. Now that I am not home during the day, he will lay on the footrest of dad’s chair but when I come home, no one else matters except for me. So he is definitely, my boy.

Biscotti’s health is good and he has had no more problems with the hystiocytoma. He got that one and it went away on its own after about 3 weeks. Since then no more have popped up. He’s pretty good about letting me brush his teeth, but it took a while to get him used to the process. He had his annual shots in November and his rabies in December and had no ill effects. My vet does not give the Lepto to small dogs, so that is good.

Anyway, hope you are well and doing good with the pups. I looked on your website but find it difficult to tell what you have for available dogs at the moment. I think you need to put available dates in the description.

Take care,

Jenna & Biscotti

Breeders Note: We don't set people up for disappointment by saying all Chihuahuas can go home at 10 or 12 weeks. Some need to stay to 13 or 16 weeks. Depends if they react to vaccines, or if their new owners work, or if they are bold or shy, or if they have to fly on a plane, etc. Too variable. Ask.

Hi Dawn,,
Sadie is doing great. She is the queen of our house. We love her to death. She is so spoiled. We have decided to get a boy from you as soon as we can afford him. I wanted to all along. Hope you enjoy the pics of Sadie, we have lots.. She has been a real friend after my neck surgery in Sept. I had a neck brace on for 3 1/2 months.. She goes everywhere with me. See you soon..

Jackie, Jessie, & Sadie

Hi Dawn,

Just thought I would share a few photos of "Pepper" and her new family. Our 11 year old, Nola says she now knows what "Falling in Love" means. Her feet barely met the floor the whole weekend and she was the center of attention for the entire family.

Thank you again for your caring placement of your pups to our family! I hope to work with you in the future and maybe get another pup and learn a hobby that probably is more rewarding than both of our previous successful real estate careers!

Thank you again!!!
Trudy V.

She's doing very, very well. She's learning to sleep in her crate and learning to go potty outside, though this crazy cold snap we're having right now is making housetraining a bit of a chore - she keeps telling us it's cold out there!?We got her a little coat to wear outside, and that helped a lot. It was a bit too big for her, but I've done some creative re-jiggering and now it keeps her nice and toasty. She _might_ even be willing to say she likes it. Her favorite toy is one of the Loofa Dogs from PetSmart. It's longer than she is, but it's loads of fun to play tug with. A very close second is a little pink teething Kong.

We took her to the vet to get her checked out and they said she's absolutely perfect (not that I had any doubts). Her siblings thinks she's okay, too. Deliah (the big tortie) thinks it's great fun to hide behind things, swat Lulu on the head as she trots by, and then take off running when Lulu chases. I think it's great because it means Lulu sleeps better. Miles (the silver persian) thinks Lulu is a little too loud and frisky for his taste, but he'll come around. As you can see from the last picture, he's willing to put his personal feelings aside for a warm snuggle.

Lulu's?a very good girl and we're absolutely thrilled to have her. Thank you so much for getting her for us.

-Marianne

Hello Dawn,

I just want to let you know that we are all loving our new puppy "Pepper". My niece brought her to the Ranch and everyone has fallen in love with her! My daughter can hardly put her down and treats her as if she is her little baby (which she is). Pikachu doesn't quite know what to think yet about her and Pepper is a feisty and brave little girl! Her new name suits her personality well!

Marlece was telling more about your operation and really enjoyed meeting you and thinks I can set up something similar at my Reno Ranch. I am definitely intrigued with the idea and think I am about 2 years away from a goal like that, but feel that would probably be a good way to get things set up and ready. I'd love to hear more about how you started and come see you and your ranch one day soon!

Again, thank you for the caring way you helped us choose the right puppy. I can see why you were also successful in your Real Estate career as well!

Mahalo, Trudy

Hi Dawn!

This is Heather, I called you last night about a puppy for my Dad. I purchased (Daisy) Bella from you about three years ago and I have to say she is the BEST dog I have ever had! I just love her so much and so does everyone else! She is so loyal and has the sweetest little personality. :) She follows me everywhere....I call her my little shadow. She honestly has the best temperament I have ever seen in a Chihuahua and loves people! She is so friendly with everyone that she meets and she is not a barker. :) I take her everywhere with me because she is the perfect size! She loves car rides too! I love to watch her when she gets ready to sleep because she likes to bury herself in her blanket, it is soooo cute! I could not have asked for a better little companion. Thank you so much for her, she is my little joy everyday! She is proof of what a wonderful breeder you are and what wonderful pets you have! :) My dad is very excited about getting a puppy too! Here are some of my favorite pictures of Bella, she is about 5 lbs now. :)  I hope you enjoy! :)

Hi Dawn,

I just wanted to give you a quick update on Sprocket.  He is such an amazing chihuahua.  My husband has totally fallen in love with him.  He is sweet and quiet and playful...  he's the best!  I've attached some pictures for you to see him - there's one picture of him with Sonny too.  Thank you Dawn!

Dear Dawn,

Pancho says Hi

Dear Dawn,

I am writing this letter to let you now how happy I am with my new long hair Chihuahua Chachi, he is the best little dog I could have asked for, he is great with my children and he is not a barker he is just a well rounded little dog and the fact that he was already a young adolescent when I bought him, I thought I might have some problem's but not one problem, that show's me you did your part on good breeding. I would recommend you to anyone who is looking for a dog, if I don’t have what they are looking for.

Your friend in San Diego Gina Collins, www. Pixie-pups.com

Hey Dawn,

Jeanette Fugate from Weimar!!! Lady our German Shepard we got from you is wonderful, still a big baby. Honey Boy (Chihuahua from SNS) is the best! Such my protector and love bug.

Buster Brown we got from (XXXXXXX the other breeder ) and he is still scared of his own shadow at times, doesn't like to be held, SCREAMS when picked up by anyone but me, loves to cuddle next to me and belly rubs but just isn't "normal"...I should have had an idea when I met with (xxxx the other breeder) to get him, he screamed when she picked him up! He is a sweetie but not like one of yours!!!!!!

Can u please tell me about Poncho? Do you still have him? Any recent pictures? The CHP dispatcher we referred to you and who bought (Chihuahua) Cream Soda are VERY happy with him. Spoiled rotten!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope all is well, are you still in the Shepard breeding? Is Whisper? Ok, look forward to hearing back!

Jeanette

Hi Dawn -

Antonio Banderas is doing well - he is sleeping through the night (mostly) and eating, drinking, playing and going potty very normally. He is an absolute loving, playful and very smart puppy! My concern is for my 2 Siamese cats (10 and 11 years old) - they are very sensitive cats and I am getting very worried because the new puppy has stressed them out so much they have not eaten or taken a drink of water in over 24 hours and everytime they come downstairs they throw up. They each have thrown up about 5+ times now in 24 hours. I realize they need some adjustment time to this new situation, but I am concerned because they aren't eating or drinking and are starting to act lethargic. Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks so much

Jessica Mattson

Note from Breeder: Use calming drops for cats for a few days, and pick them up by scruff and rub pup all over them, so they get used to his scent. Cats reject or accept newcomers by getting used to scent. They WILL get over it , and likely become great friends. Cat's and Chi's usually love each other in time. Keep pup away from cat litter box.

Thank you so much for the videos. they are precious. Annie is doing very well and is in with Tarah my little gal that is the same size and is 11 months old. i am sending pics for you to enjoy of Annie (Ricks baby) and Morgan and summers new female pup born 11-28-06. she is a fatty but cute.

Hi Dawn,

It’s been a long time since I have contacted you. My name is Rhonda White. Last year around this time, my husband bought Tinkerbell from you. I had just got out of the hospital and was recovering from a heart attack/ pregnancy loss/ pneumonia etc… Since Tinkerbell AKA Tinky and I have been together, I have experienced a successful recovery. Tinky is doing well is 6 pounds. Her last vet has her posted on his web site at: http://adobepet.com/

I am very lucky to have Tinky in my life as she has brought me much joy and happiness.

I am contacting you in hopes of finding another female dog. This time for my mom who recently lost her long time pet of over ten years.

Please contact me as soon as possible. I would like to find my mom a dog to help her through her hard times.

Happy Holiday,
Rhonda White

Hi Dawn,

Yes unfortunately he did get sick about 6 times on the way home. But he is doing really well now. We took him on a shopping spree and he is having a great time playing with the kids. Cody our lab likes him too. I will have to send you pictures. I am a stay at home mom so I am really excited to have a little extra joy around the house. It breaks up the monotony. Thank you so much for such a friendly happy place to get a puppy!

Carrie

Hi Dawn,

This is David Shusta. My family and I adopted Zorro, now know as Carson, last January. He quickly became part of the family, and we are looking to share our home and love with another Chihuahua. I want to know if the tan and chocolate "Starbucks" is still available.

Since we adopted Carson, we have moved to Bellingham, Washington. Our contact information is as follows:

David Shusta

P.S. If Starbucks is available, I'd like to put a hold on him and schedule a day and time when we can come visit you again. I look forward to your reply.

Breeders Note:  I asked him if he wanted to sell a show quality girl from Licorice

Hahahhaha! Oh no. I dont think so. I wont part even with a boy yet. Hahaha  Oh! Licorice is such a sweet boy. A kiss in the face is what he wants every time he is picked up. Belly rubs
morning afternoon are some of his daily demands.

Cheers!

Paul

Hey Dawn,

The baby girl is perfect. she loves being a lap dog and she uses potty paper. she is smaller than i thought but she may have to be a c-section girl we will have to see. Rick loves her and babies her. we did good. he wants to change her name but he hasn't figured it out. a daddy's girl couch potatoes. rough life eh? :):)

Hi! Dawn, Chiquita has become home buddy of my kids. We r still trying hard on d leash as she wont move even if u drag her or bait her. But she would walk if wishes go with her. Wishes walks better now. they prefer to be in strollers. Haha . Also have to wait for them to be registered before they can be shown here. Licorice walks well on the lead and he has mated one of my bitch naturally. He hates my aust. Champ Zack. So we have to separate them. Oh these chis are so lovely in character. They wake us up every morning climbing stairs going to each room and say wake up! Haha How is Dony and CT doing.

Regards, PAUL

Breeders note: Dr. Paul Pineda DVM is a vet who shows Chihuahuas all around the world, and is showing 3 of Dawn's at a time now.

Hi, Dawn!

My name is Lyndsay Elledge. I purchased my wonderful dog, Sunshine, a mini dachshund, from you in Feb. 2005. I was just writing to you because I wanted to let you know that Sunshine had her first litter on Friday, December 15th. Here is a picture of the happy family. I'll send some more as they get bigger.

One question I have that maybe you could help mw with are the markings on the girl. She's black and tan like mom, dad, and brother, but she has white on the top of her feet near her toes and white on her chest. What are these markings called?
Thanks!

-Lyndsay

Hi Dawn! How have you been?

My name is Lauren and I purchased my beautiful baby boy from you! His name
was Shakespeare, I renamed him Rocco. He is doing great! He is the best!

I'm thinking of getting another baby and I saw Zorro and I'm wondering if
you still have him. I also saw one of your adult babies, she is a black and
white puppy and I wonder if you still have her as well.

I hope to hear from you soon! Happy Holidays!

Hi Dawn!

I was wondering if you were going to be home/at the Stevinson Ranch on Tuesday, Dec. 19th?  I was wanting to come visit and take a look at your current Chihuahua puppies.  I am thinking of getting another Chihuahua as I love Maverick (aka: Coolio) so much and think he would just love having a friend!  But then again he is so spoiled and used to getting ALL the attention that I'm afraid he may be jealous and I don't want him to feel that way! :)

If you are available I wanted to try and come some time in the morning.  One of the K9 Officers was wanting to come along also and take a look at Gene's Shepherds and the Ranch.  If this works for you let me know....if not I understand as it's so close to the Holidays.  If you would like to call me my cell phone # is 401-XXXX.

Thank You,

Hi Dawn!

I just thought I would send you some new pictures of Cinnamon (Butterfingers)!!! The one where she is in the blanket was funny. I think she was trying to play hide and seek, but this time she hid! We actually have taught her how to play, but we are usually the ones who hide. She just sits and waits with one of us while the other goes and hides. Then when we say "OK" she charges in every room trying to find us.

When she finally does, the smile on her face says it all. She's ecstatic!!!! What a sweetheart. Also, we recently took her on her first trip down to San Diego (5 hour drive) and she did great! Slept and cuddled herself in her blanket the whole way. We stayed with my parents and she even used the litter box at their house! Not one accident! Can you believe that? She also got along quite well with my Mom's 13 pound cat. They played so cute together AND the cat looked like a horse compared to Cinnamon!!! Funny. Anyway, I know I keep emailing you about your available puppies but right now I think she's the spoiled one and only.

Maybe someday though!!!! Hope you are doing well. Can you believe it's been a year almost from when we spoke about her?? I will never forget seeing her face on your site for the first time. Right when I saw her, I wanted her and no other. Thanks for such a perfect baby!!!

Denise

P.S. To this day, no one can believe that she uses a litter box. Everyone gets the biggest kick when they see her just charge up the stairs and potty in her little box. She really is so smart.

Hey there,

I just wanted to let you how happy we are with Monster! Yes, he has been renamed by my son and he has claimed ownership of Little Monster! They are inseparable! I must admit he is a very good daddy to Little Monster. He gets up at 5:30 a.m. to take him outside for potty, he feeds him, loves him like crazy and visa versa. Little Monster is the most spoiled, loved and catered to little baby on the planet! He comes with me every day to pick Evan up from school and all the kids. He is the best little puppy and so well behaved. And, its no wonder; he came from such a great beginning. Your breeding standards are impeccable. Your space immaculate. There was no adjustment period for Monster, he just sniffed about for a few minutes and he was at home. Thank you, we adore him.

Best regards

Diana Vescio

Hi Dawn,

I bought a puppy from you in Sept. of 2005 named "Snowy" .... I call her Tiara... she in an absolute angel, and I just adore her... Anyway I am thinking of getting her a baby sister... I saw a puppy that I really liked at the "Lucky Dog" boutique in San Diego (she belongs to
the owner) and I was wondering if you ever get puppies like her...  She was a black long coat about 5 lbs as an adult... I would also be interested in a black and white... but I definitely want a female and a long coat... please let me know if you ever get puppies of this type... I'm not in a huge hurry... but just thought I would put out a feeler :o)

Thank you, Kelli Espana

Hi Dawn,

I hope this finds you and your family well.  I saw the picture of you showing one of your Dogs on your website.  That's great!  I've enjoyed showing my Merrie and most of the competition is friendly.  We will hit the circuit again in the Spring.  Will you be showing at any of the spring shows?

Do you have any AKC long coat female prospects that you think will make good show dogs?  If so, I would love to see pictures and info.

Would you consider evaluating Merrie for breeding suitability?  I think she might be too small.  I know you have years of experience and frankly I don't think I can get this kind of advice from our local vets.  She came into heat in June, so she should be coming in again pretty soon.  Do your dogs have regular heat cycles?

Happy Holidays, talk to you soon,

Kim Gattis proud owner of  SNS Trueheart Merrie Sunshine!

He is doing MUCH better.  I think it was nerves.  He is eating and drinking and he had a normal bowel movement - actually about 3 of them (in the wrong place, too.  ;-)  )   He is strutting around, sitting on his hind legs, and waving his paws at my black Lab, who seems very amused and happy to have a little friend.  He is also chasing my cats and barking at them, and they are terrified, but that's o.k., too.  I'm just glad he is feeling well.   He is also following me around like a little shadow.  He is just adorable.  (He wasn't that cute from 2 am to 6 am, however!)   I'll keep you posted.

Breeders Note: Toby was delivered AND neutered by buyers vet yesterday, up all night throwing up. Poor baby.  Over it now though and adoreable again :)

Well, Torie has finally lost her last baby tooth. It was in position with her adult tooth and the vet had said she would remove it when I take Torie in for spaying. But, Torie has done it herself with either her chew toys or one of the greenies that I give her every other day. I found it and am keeping it to go along with the baby teeth that I have from my horse and a couple other dogs who have shared my life. I was so thrilled to have found it, too, since it is so small (and perfect).

Torie is still getting a mix of the food you sent home with her and the Bil-Jac that I have bought for her, but she is very effectively picking out the Bil-Jac and leaving the other. Guess she really likes it!

I was confining her to the kitchen when I am away from home, but Saturday she finally figured out how to climb the portable pen I was using across the large opening, so I removed all impediments and she has the kitchen, living room and my bedroom to run around in. She has also moved all her favorite toys into my bedroom and has claimed it as her own retreat (especially under the bed).

She seems to be fairly well housebroken if I take her out on a regular basis. She is not happy with the cold and damp grass, but I put her out anyway for a short time, and I guess she is doing what needs doing as I have not found any accidents in the house.

Torie still is not sure about coming to me all the time, but I'm not forcing her, and I'm sure that soon she will want to be in my lap all the time. She goes out with me in the pet carrier I wear and seems quite comfortable being in it and seeing all the people and places we go. She loves the attention she gets and hardly ever shakes any more.

In fact, she is carrying her tail nicely now, and seldom tucks it under her belly, or carries it low. It is now at a jaunty angle above her back line and sometimes almost curled over her back. She is so perfect, and I love her so much. I think her hair is growing out and she should have quite a nice coat when she gets a little older, but no matter what she will always be perfect for me.

My whole family is looking forward to meeting her, as they loved Shyla so much. I will be careful with her and not ask her to get too involved with everyone just yet, as she is still getting used to me and her new home, but she seems to be a fairly layed-back little dog. I have only heard her bark a couple of times so far, and that was when there was a dog barking on TV.

I will keep you up-dated as time goes by and will bring her out to see you when she and I are better acquainted and at ease with each other. I am going to start some obedience/socialization training as recommended in the Chihuahuas publication I purchased, put out by the editors of Dog Fancy magazine. You are mentioned in it, and I was thrilled to know that I found my little girl at an acknowledged breeder. I have an earlier edition of this same publication and have found it to be interesting and informative, as is this edition.

Well, hope your Thanksgiving is a good one, Magie.

Hi! Dawn,

I hope CT and Dony are adapting well. They seemed to enjoy the place coz all tails were up. I miss them terribly. Anyway, I was just thinking it would really be possible to quickly finish the championship title of Cody, Topper, trinket if they are up to show performance in my country. However, I think you really need to have them at least have the know how to walk
on the lead so it would not be hard for me to show them in the future. They need basic training know how to walk on the lead and pose on table exam. I believe in my heart we can make GREAT WINNERS out of them in the future.I am sure you would love that. But basic training must start now. I am sure you or your family can spend time doing that in the farm on daily walks.

Like with the bitches, as you can see Wishes and Chiquita are really show quality chihuahuas, but I guess now I need to have them trained by professional trainer to have them on the lead before I can show them. I tried them on the lead today and they would
not even move an inch. Once you remove the lead they walk and run.

Dreaming of our future champions!

Paul

Breeders Note: Dr. Paul Pineda DVM is a Chihuahua breeder and international handler. He's currently showing 3 of my Chihuahuas , and has left his Grand Champion Dony with me for breeding, and traded me his Champion girl CT, for my Champion Licorice to widen both our gene pools. He's planning to title about 10 of my current dogs. Who are still untrained. I'm showing Topper in Turlock Friday Nov. 24th, and his Grand Champion Dony in LongBeach Nov 29,30 Dec 1. Wish me luck, I haven't been in the show ring since my 2001 head-on 65mph car crash hit by a drunk driver. Dony is English import. If you're interested in male service from him, write to dawndalyce@yahoo.com.

Dearest Dawn,

Torie is the most photogenic little dog. The camera loves her! I have taken any number of 'snapshots' and in every one of them she looks good, even great!

This morning she barked for the first time since I brought her home. She is also showing interest in al the toys I have gotten for her. She sleeps quietly on the bed with me all night, and only uses the kitchen where her pee pad and litter box are. She has not used the litter box (may be too small for her), but does use the pee pad and a little throw rug. Would you like the shavings if I don't use them? I have such a huge amount of them and have no other use for them.

She is still just a bit hesitant to come to me, but is slowly getting better. She was out in the backyard with me for a couple of hours yesterday while I pruned about 60 feet of grape vines, and, at first she hid from me, but as I ignored her she finally came out of hiding and was watching me. Afterwards we visited with my neighbor, who has a small Pom. Last night she cuddled next to me on the sofa while we watched TV and I crocheted.
This morning we even started playing a little bit together. She is used to her collar, and now I will let her drag the leash around (only when I am with her) to get her used to that. I will try walking her on the leash once she has accepted it. I will also put the harness on her so that she becomes comfortable with that, as I will use that when we go out, or go traveling. I think it much safer than using the collar on such a small dog.

She is eating and drinking well, and has no problems with elimination. I think I will wait till after the first of the year to have her spayed, to see if I can up her body weight a tad, to give her and edge during surgery.

To say the least, she is a joy and a blessing, and she has completely filled the void left by my dear Shyla. I proudly show her pictures (which I carry around in my apron pocket at work at Home Depot) to anyone who will look at them. Thank you so much for allowing me to purchase her.

Magie.

Dear Dawn,

We wanted you to know that we are enjoying Romeo, He is everything you promised and more. He is quite the independent little fellow and I have a feeling he may be the boss around our home when it is all said and done. He is getting along well with Frenchies and with Gabby and Taco, and he is settling in well. I'm looking forward to the show ring with him in the spring and hope he will do you proud also. No matter what though he is as we say "A KEEPER", and we thank you so much for the opportunity to bring the wonderful boy into our homes. I hope in the future to be back for a little pet/show girl! Take care and Thanks Again. The Loynings.

Update on Pumpkin
She is perfect, in every way. Really coming around socially for me. Cuddling more. She loves the other dogs and the one cat I have but, I am not so sure they feel likewise.

Really enjoying her Dawn
Bringing her back with me to Minnesota for Thanksgiving, with her stroller, rhinestone collar, complete wardrobe and fur coat. I hope people don't want to touch her at the airport, I am not sure I want to share her. I have died my hair months ago Strawberry blond, so her and I match. I often hold her up (even above me, which is a no no you said) and then put her close to my face and exclaim, we look alike Pumpkin. Just thought I could share my neurotic behavior with you.

Jennifer
P.S. The likelihood of me being back for another purchase, is high.

Dear Dawn,

First I can not forget about your sister Gloria. How courageous she is. Our thoughts are with her and you. I hope she is better. Snowflake whose name is now Emily, is truly precious. She is a bundle of pure love and joy! What a fantastic temperament she has. You really know what you are doing. We appreciate it so much and love her so much. Best to you Joy and Dixie in Victoria B. C. We'll send you some pictures when we get the camera and computer better figured out. Emily  now weighs 1.1KG and is Healthy and Happy, maybe even a little wise.

Dear Dawn,

Diamond & Twinkles are doing very good. They still are adjusting to their new big family. Diamond has been named Maggie. She gives our French bull a run for her money and like wise. Twinkles name is Mya. She is the barker of the two and is the one that likes her loving. They both are as cute as they can be.

Best Regards,
Charlotte

Hello Dawn,

Thank you for your message and patience. Sorry for delayed response, my schedule has been quite busy for past couple weeks. I will try to send more information and a photo latter. Our kitten is adjusting better, she can tolerate being about 3 feet from our older cat before growling and hissing. She was easily scared initially. for instance, if I gently
move the blanket that she is sleeping under, she sometime growls or occassionally hisses. Fortunately, this event is now rather rare with us She loves to cuddle, and her tail is like an antenna (almost leaning forward to her head) when we come to greet her or away from the home for a few hours. Dawn, I have passed on your information to some of
my friends, hopefully they contact you. God bless you!

Best Regards,

Michael

Abby likes Gracie's' bed better... kind of like the 3 Bears...

Hi Dawn,

Boo had a good evening playing and a good night of sleep. I'm amazed that he will sleep
all night and not cry. He is still eating like a piggy. He cracks me up with all the food all over his face. You would think he was starving. I'm really feeding him a lot. I will go home again at noon and give him wet food. He really doesn't eat the dry stuff. I might try some Purina kitten chow, but he might still be too little for that. I'm going to call today to make an appointment at the vets office. Hope you had a good time at Boy Scouts.

Hi all,

Today Elvis was in his 1st AKC dog show. It was in Yuba City. He did so well! He didn't mess up once. He strutted around like a little champ. He took "1st in his Class" and "Best Puppy!" I am so proud of him. I wish we would have taken better pics of Elvis (and none of me, hehe.)

Love,

Dawn,

All grown up but still my baby.

Pictured here in his favorite spot while i am working on the computer

isn't he handsome?"

Hey Dawn,

I bought a Chihuahua puppy from you a little while ago, Creampuff, (although we renamed him Vincent, no hard feelings). I was interested in your little brown and white boy you have on your site. Is the one in between the two black and white girls the same as the one on the 10th page of your photo album? Let me know if they are still available.

On a side note, we love Vincent to death, he is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever owned. Thanks!
Gordon

Hi Dawn,

I wanted to let you know that we are enjoying our Ragdoll kitten very much (Bella). We purchased her from you last December. I have a couple friends that may be interested in a kitten in the future. I was looking at your kitten web page and it looks like you have kitten available now, is that right? If not, are you expecting another litter in the next few months? Please update me about your Ragdoll kittens.

Thank you,
Erin

Dawn,

I just wanted to thank you so much! We are so happy with Tiffany, and she has made herself comfortable in our home. Jadea is being an outstanding older sister (playing and sharing her toys, etc.), although we still give Tiffany a significant amount of alone time so that she can sleep and rest. Wednesday is still slightly disgruntled, but she is coming around slowly. Tiffany does not seem to care either way. She is just happily pouncing around the apartment. So far she is 100% with her potty training! I've attached a few pictures for you.

We will send holiday pictures toward the end of the year.
Dawn

Hi Dawn,

THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH FOR MY NEW BABY!!! "Mattice" is fitting in with our family perfectly. Did you potty-train him??? He hasn't had one accident and knows to "go potty" when I tell him! I haven't decided on a name yet...nothing seems good enough for him! I took him to my baby shower on Saturday (the day after I brought him home) and he was sooo good! He played very nicely with all the little kids there and everyone was asking where I got "such a well-behaved and loving" puppy. Of course, I highly recommended you and your wonderful kennels!

I also took him to work with me today and yesterday....my boss asked me if he was okay because he slept on my lap all day! He was very, very well-behaved and greeted clients with a wagging tail and "doggy smile" on his face. Thanks again - I love him more than anything!!!

Angela

Hi Dawn,

She is doing terrific! She is absolutely adorable. We are working on house training now, and she is about 80% there. We are crate training and she has taken to this with quite a bit of ease. She no longer barks when we put her in her crate, and is more comfortable with the process each day. We are still having accidents inside, but we are doing quite well. She has had her second set of shots and the vet said she was in excellent health. She is chewing alot, so we keep her armed with chew toys. She is sleeping and eating very well. I have her sleeping with my husband and I now, and about 99% of the time she is curled up next to me. She "fusses" if she isn't comfortable and has to have her nose as close to my chest as possible. She is just adorable and we love her to pieces. She is very sociable with my husband and my son and looks to them to play with her and she tends to come to me to be comforted and to take naps. She is like a baby in our house, spoiled and given full attention. She has bursts of energy and runs through our home and all you hear is the thunder of her paws across our hardwood floors. We had our first bath this weekend, and that was a hoot. She didn't seem to like that too much in the beginning, but calmed down quickly, it was definitely time for a bath. She is a lot of fun and we just think she is a doll.

Thanks so much for checking in on her. I can't say enough about her.

Hi Dawn,

Koko is doing great!

He weighed 1.2 pounds and everyone at the vet did love him. He wakes up a few times during the night but if he feels my hand in his box he is comforted and goes back to sleep. He's eating well and he is quite obsessed with me and likes to follow me.

We are very happy with him!

Thanks,

Hi Gramma Dawn!

I just wanted to update you on Lily. Sorry it's been so long since my last email! Lily and I are doing wonderfully! She was spayed and microchipped at six months, and she also had four teeth removed. She also got her rabies shot, too. The surgery went very well, Lily recovered very quickly and is doing great. You can't even see her spay scar at all now. She's very healthy and happy.

We are a member of a Los Angeles Chihuahua meeting group online and we meet with all the other members throughout the month at dog parks and parties. It's a wonderful group, there's over 300 members and at each actual meeting we get to play with at least 20 other Chihuahuas and small dogs. Lily is always the Belle of the ball! The other members adore her and I always get asked where I got her from (of course, I always highly recommend YOU!). We just went to a birthday party yesterday for the group leader's dog, Paris. It was huge! There were probably 60 people there and 30 dogs! It was very Hollywood (LOL!) a huge bday party for a sweet pampered pooch. Lily and I had a blast! I've included some pics of Lily from the party yesterday.

Anyway, I hope all is well with you and your lovely dogs and family. I peek at your website from time to time and look at all the adorable pics of the new pups you have. I'm thinking very seriously about getting a little brother for Lily. I think she would love to have a companion besides me 24/7. Please let me know what your thoughts are on that idea. I do value your opinion very much. Well I hope you have a wonderful week! Take care!

Sincerely, Amanda and Lily Rose

Good Morning Dawn,

I was curious if you would be available to baby-sit your grandbaby, Laela. She has grown into a lovely young lady, and has become such a special part of our family. We have to travel to Anaheim on Saturday, Sept 16th, and will return on Thursday, Sept 21st. I feel that you would give you the best care while we are away. Please let me know if you are available, so we can then make the necessary arrangements with you.

Thank you,
Joni

Hi Dawn!

I wanted to apologize again about not being aware of your no-check policy. I am so sorry about the inconvenience that may have caused you. Thank you again for trusting me!

As for our little Showoff, I have re-named him "Barron von Maverick," Maverick for short. He is absolutely adorable and I think he is starting to actually learn his name! He did great in the long car ride home, slept most of the way, and even went out to a cafe here in LA for dinner with us upon our return the following evening! Very well behaved!

He is acclimating very well to his new home and is having a lot of fun with my other dog Angel. He loves to play and is a true cuddle
monster! He is so cute at night, he likes to sleep on the pillow beside me and squish himself up against the side of my head...
Needless to say, he is full of personality, and has a wonderful disposition.

It was wonderful to meet you, and to see your beautiful farm. What a lovely place! Thanks again for such a wonderful little love bug, he's truly a joy and so much fun to be around!

Best regards,
Danielle

Hi Dawn,

Here's a few pictures of Spike and my cat Mr. Kozmo who's trying to figure out what Spike is in these photos. He's doing really well, loves playing with and chasing the cats, who are starting to enjoy his antics too. He also loves to sleep with me in the bed, cuddle and play with his toys. He is such a happy, sweet little boy, I am so happy I have him. We will be moving to the downstairs apt. this week and he'll have a fenced yard with brand new grass. I can hardly wait, even though I hate moving, it will be worth it. Take care, I'll send more photos soon.

Leigh

WOW she is so perfect what a doll. and personality plus Love her so much. Have vet appointment today. very shortly. will keep in touch. Thanks for everything. Hoping Claudia is better. Will keep in touch. send some pics.

Best wishes Dixie

Hi Dawn,

Sorry we haven't written or posted pics of Sadie. I've tried to e-mail pics, I'm not very good on the computer. I have been having a lot of health problems. I have 3 slipped discs in my neck. I'm having surgery on them in 2 weeks. We have had a lot of joy & fun with our bundle of Joy. She is the little queen of our home. She goes every where with us. She took a trip to Lake Tahoe this summer & we stayed in a big house on the Keys. She had a lot of fun everyday riding on the paddle boat with us.. Everyone loves her when they see her. She is healthy & very happy. We kept her on the same food. & she gets little jerky looking treats, dog bones & little Liver Biscotti treats that worked real good while potty training her. She is very spoiled & loved. We also took her down South with us to visit family.. She does great on car rides.. Falling asleep on Grandma's lap.. My daughter Jessie is a great Momma !!! She takes very good care of her.. Bathing her & making sure she never does without.. Will figure out out to send pics or maybe drive up & visit in person before my surgery. Jessie has started a book of pics with her in it.. We take lots of pics of her.. We will be wanting to get her a brother or sister hopefully in the next 4 to 5 months.

Thanks
Jackie

Hi Dawn,

Sorry it took me awhile to get these cute pictures to you. Diamond (now known as Dulce) is still doing great. She is adorable - as you can see, and loved the new "Kate Spayed" purse she got at Bark Ave. on vacation.

I'm ready for another one - am saving my money!

Hope all is well on the west coast!
Elaine

Hi Dawn,

Here are the pictures I promised of your Grandpuppy, Snowflake (Tati). She is 10 months old and weighs 3 pounds. 3 pounds of pure love. She is such a good girl and we love her so much. Thank you for such a perfect dog.

Denise

Dawn,

A pic of the little ones -- Jadea and Wednesday -- and this is a while back
--- Wednesday is getting to be a big cat. I think she will outgrow Jadea soon. Such a Sassy girl the kitty! Oh I love them both soooooo much.

See you soon,
Dawn

Here is a pic of my Daisy...
...all 3 pounds of her.

Hi Dawn

"Confetti/Spike" is doing well, we got home Saturday night and he appears to like his new home and is happy. My male cat "kozmo" is fascinated by him and likes to sit and watch Spike, Spike tries to play with him and chase him. My female cat "Miss Taz" however is not speaking to any of us, yet. He did really well on the trip home, adapted well in the car and quickly took to my sister's velveteen pillow, which he slept on the whole way home. He is such a sweety and loves being spoiled. I'll send pictures soon.

Leigh

Hi Dawn,

To let you know, SallySue and us Iron's are doing good!...:} This little dog is a pistol, but we are loving her more every day. You sold us a good girl!!

My question is, What kind of dog food is that you gave us in the baggie...........it looks like Cheerios. We have looked at all the food in the pet stores and have asked..........no one seems to be able to identify it. I'm almost out and need to either get some more like it or start to introduce another into her Bil-Jac.

Thanks, Wendi

Hi Dawn,

I just wanted to let you know that we are now into our second week of Lyric being home. and that everything is going well.
She has loosened up a lot and now is more secure and comfortable with her new home.
She loves ALL the cats and fortunately they have adjusted to yet another dog in their midst.

The cats are merciful and realize that she is a small infant and are very tolerant.
Even the older cats who will usually swat the older dog are patient with her.
She is a finally getting use to us humans and loving to be cuddled.
Thank you so much for her.

Hi Dawn,

We're in the Philippines, not Hong Kong, but I hope to meet this Penny Yuks when I get the chance to judge in Hong Kong. Maybe next year. They only have limited show & their judges are usually booked way ahead. Congrats on the dog that finished there.

Where is this Mark Tanpoco from? I will try to ask around. My friend showed the dogs for me as I have been busy judging, actually, I just arrived from Australia for a 2 weekend judging appointment.

By the way, Mooney is already a Grand Champion is one of the top winning Chihuahua here.
I will try to see if I can meet this Mark.

Simon

WOW where to begin. They are great travelers, both let us know when they needed to go potty. The boy even pooped on a napkin when we couldn't stop, now that's breeding.
We went straight to our friends birthday party, we left the pups in the car so as not to put too much stress on them as they were already tired from the trip. But everyone came out to see them anyway and they were a smash, however, that was the end of the birthday party everyone changed their focus to the pups, how cute etc. etc.

They both are better adapted and behaved than our home grown litters were, in that they don't cry when left in the pen at night. They both cuddled up and went right to sleep.
Food is going in and out at a frantic pace. Patches (Sugar N Spice's Patches Pierrot), the boy, is already the boss, he even barked at a workman remodeling the kitchen. Mardi (Sugar N Spice's Mardi Gras Pierrette), the girl (Bandita) , lets him crawl all over her and nibble on her small parts. She shows no reaction to the shot. By the way when does Patches get his next NeoPar and where can I get it. Their first vet apt is in 30 Min. so I gots to run.

Jabez' Blessings,
Ricki

Hi Dawn

Our little SallySue is the happiest dog in the world......I swear, she smiles all the time. You let her go to a good home. She is much loved.

Remember the picture of her I sent where she is sitting on the top of the couch...........well, that has become her "puppy slide"! She loves to climb up there and slide down the leather cushions..............She is most energetic and is taking years off Fred's and my life...or should I say adding to the years with all the new exercise we are getting.

We are just so pleased with her and while she got off to a rocky start here with us, I hope you, too, feel confident that she is in a good place.

Wendi

(Ann forwarded what she wrote to a TV director about a documentary they're producing on how dogs help people and about how much her chi's have improved her life.)

My name is Ann and my friend Dawn sent me an email telling me about your film.

I don't really know anything about filmmaking or exactly what you would be looking for,
but I do have 2 Chihuahuas whom I love with all my heart. I fully believe they are angels.
I was very sick for a few years (chronic fatigue). My doctors couldn't find anything wrong with me. This fatigue forced me to make serious changes in my life. Mainly quit working so much, and loose the lazy boyfriend I was supporting. I did. It was a very hard and sad time in my life.

I finally started getting a little bit better but still had some pretty bad bouts with the fatigue. During this time is when planning, and I, after much thought decided to get a second Chihuahua from dawn. I cannot ever put into words how this little angel has changed my life.

After almost a year I was feeling really good and started to work again regularly. I took my little angel with me as much as I could but felt badly leaving her at home for more than an hour. So after very careful thoughtful decision making, I decided to get her a buddy. So I went to see dawn with my little Chihuahua to get another AND boy did I get another.

I got a boy this time at Dawn’s suggestion. He loves loves loves my first Chi!! They are the best of friends. My relationship with this little chi boy is INCREDIBLE. He is the apple of my eye!

I am 99% recovered from my fatigue spells now and happy as can be. My little dogs have opened up my heart and I see life differently now. I have learned allot about animals and how important they are. As a result of having this close relationship with these 2
little dogs, I am now working with horses too. And finding the same loyalty, love, guidance in the horse world too.

The reason I am emailing you back about your film is because if I could play a part in spreading the word of hoe important and loving these animals are I believe it could make people better people! AND help people be more aware of how we should treat all living things well.

Here are some photos of Poppybella and Hemi Laroux!
Good luck with you r film and feel free to contact me if you think i can help.

Ann

Hi Dawn,

I wanted to give you an update on Cinnamon. She is doing great, as usual! Just some funny habits she's developed that I wanted to share with you. They are absolutely adorable.

First, she's beginning to be a bit demanding in the attention area. Maybe a bit spoiled? When you sit down (anywhere mind you) and are doing whatever it is you may be doing, she gets right on you, next to you, etc. So of course we pet her. Well, once you stop for ANY reason, she begins to paw at your arm!! She just kinds of stares at your hand and paws at it like, come on, scratch my chest!! And she doesn't just paw, she actually forms her paw to curve around your hand and pull it toward her chest! SO cute. We think it is SO special :o)

Second, she picks up her ball that we play fetch and soccer with. She loves to play soccer on the tile or carpet, defending the goal with her rear end in the air! Anyway, she now takes the ball over to the stairs, stands at the top and drops the ball so it bounces and slowly rolls to the bottom. She waits and watches and then charges down to retrieve it! Then she runs back up to the top of the steps and does it again and again!!! I swear, she is so clever.

Anyway, thought you'd like to hear of her new activities! Hope all is well by you!
Denise

Dawn,

Thank you so much for the dogs that I recently purchased from you. You have been very helpful in helping me start my own small business. All of the dogs have come to me happy, and there has never been a doubt in my mind that they were treated well before they came into my care. I appreciate all that you have done, and I thank you for always being interested in my dogs, and having an answer for all my questions. It has been a pleasure doing business with you, thanks again. Attached are some photos of the new puppies. I hope you like them.

Love and Friendship,
Gina

re: I have a twin of Snowflake

I saw her and she is beautiful! I have been meaning to send you some pictures of Tati (Snowflake) but I keep forgetting. I will give her a bath this weekend and take some pictures. She is only 3 pounds, extremely beautiful, and the most loving dog I have ever seen.

I look at your website a couple of times per week just to look at the new puppies.

Denise

Re: How's Blues Clues ?

He's doing excellent! He really is a HUGE cuddle bug, and loves to kiss, that's for sure. We saw the vet last Thursday, no problems. He's slowly working his way on the potty training. When he does manage to go on the wee wee pads it's when I'm not looking, so that he probably doesn't make any connection on the praise, so that I'm surprised he's learning anyway. We've been taking some very nice naps together. And he's a complete escape artist, way too smart for his own good. He's teaching me a thing or two. He's slowly learning a leash and taught himself how to use the stairs by the second day. He's gone on some errands and out to lunch with me and met some people, and he begins puppy classes on Friday, so he seems to be doing beautifully. I will send some pictures soon.

Hello Dawn,

SallySue had her first bath today and she seemed to enjoy it after the fact. She is so playful and fun. We are really enjoying her. Fred went to Petco yesterday and got her a cow hoof and some beefy rawhide chews which I baked like you suggested. Has helped a great deal!

Today I received the NuVet vitamins powder and will start adding it to her food tomorrow......1/2 scoop?

Everything still seems to be OK with her so I am praying she has missed the bullet!

Wendi

Hello Dawn,

I just wanted to give you an update on Sprocket. I've got to tell you, he is the best Chihuahua I've ever met. You did a good job recommending him to me when I was confused between him and Spice Pie. He has the sweetest disposition. He loves people. Of course he's very attached to my husband and I, but he will easily play with anyone.

He goes everywhere with us. I bought a Juicy carrier/purse where we are able to take him to restaurants, movies, church etc... It's great. But also, if he stays home alone for a few hours, he's fine. He's paper trained now (he'll only pee on the pad... poops on the carpet..).

Sprocket can sit, lie down, pop a wheelie (stand up on his back feet), high five and shake. He learns soo fast. Most of what I teach him, he learns within 5 minutes or less. He's amazing! He knows the word NO and is so obedient. He loves his tummy to be rubbed. He's very playful and loves to chase his tail. He also has a sock fetish. Sprocket goes nuts when he finds a sock. He will stuff it as far into his mouth as he can, and then he will whine with the sock in his mouth until we pick him up and put him up on the bed. That is the only time he whines... when there is a sock in his mouth. He he can squeeze 3 socks in his mouth, even better. We think he dreams about socks.

And, this little on doesn't' bark! I would say he barks maybe 2 times a week. That's it. So I know he has a voice, but what a blessing that he doesn't use it all the time.

Sprocket met Sunny (Tuffy) the other day. Hannah had offered me money to buy Sprocket when she met him. I told her no, but gave her your e-mail address and number. I couldn't believe it when I found out a week later that she bought one of your Chihuahuas! Sunny owns Hannah's boutique. He walks around the store so proud. What a cutie.

Anyways, I have pictures to send you, but haven't been able to download them on my computer yet. I'll send you some as soon as I get a chance.

Take Care and God Bless!
Jennie

Hi Dawn.

Our little girl is such a love! She has already captured our hearts. And I do believe she thinks she is "our" baby. But she DOES NOT like to be in the crate. We have a 5' x 3' kennel that we laid sawdust in (used your shower curtain idea). That stuff is sure messy. Anyway, she has a set of lungs and let's us know in no uncertain terms that she wants to be with us. We have kept her in there the last two nights and she has howled most of the night. Does the same in the day and we don't pick her up just because she cries. I had forgotten just how much work a puppy is! WHEW!!!

Anyway, we go to the Vet this a.m. and I am sure we will get a perfect exam. She did not get sick on the way home......she eats well and eliminates just fine. We think we made a GREAT choice and thank you for raising such a sweet and loving animal. :}

I will update you as time goes by. Any suggestions on the crate stay thing?

Wendi

What a trooper! She went on the long car ride home without a complaint or problem. She settled down in my arms and just relaxed the whole time. She declined food, but sipped a little water.

Once we got home, she chowed down on the mixed food with some Nutrical on top.

Seems to love her new bed. What an easy going personality! She fits right in here.
Thanks for such a cutie!

Barbara, Krista and Elyssau

Hi Dawn,

Just an update on little Miss Mia as she's approaching her first birthday next Monday. It's hard to believe that she's going to be a year old. She's definitely become a mommy's girl. She's such a love and sometimes we can't believe we have a Chihuahua. She loves to go for rides in her handbag. Loves her outfits and looking pretty and yet, still likes to roll around in goose poop. While she's not as outgoing as we had hoped, you can't help but love that cute little face when she just loves us so much. Who wouldn't love having a little shadow who's just that cute?

Doug and Statia

Hi Dawn,
Here's a photo of MJ, Maui and my daughter Melizza...

Regards, Mark

Sorry we missed you again. We enjoyed our trip to Peru, and it was very nice not to worry about the fur kids. We knew they would be safe and happy with you. About the last 4 days, we began to think of them often and were anxious to return home. They were as thrilled to
get home as we were. They ran around the house wildly, grabbing every toy on the way by. Tomorrow they both go to the vet to get the "big operation". Thanks again!!

Ray and Sue

Hi Dawn,

Thank you for all your patience showing us all your beautiful babies.

I really want to have a daughter of Gideon and Powdered Sugar, as they are the most beautiful Chihuahuas, inside and out, that I have ever met. However, after playing with both puppies, my girls were absolutely charmed by the sparkling personality of the chocolate girl with the long white gloves. Her parents had equally charming personalities. Tinkerbell does fit the name of KoKo, as she is cocoa colored. It doesn't hurt that the second name we had chosen for a pup was also Tinkerbell. We will probably keep both names in her official name.

Perhaps if Ladybug were a little older it would have been more fair. She is already so friendly and I can tell she will be a beauty like her parents. If she is still available by the time I can talk my husband into a second dog, I will be back for
her! If not, please keep me informed of future litters. I think once my husband grows to know the charm of these little ones, he may open his mind to more... We
will be working on it!

I had taken vacation time the second week of August, thinking that would be when we would be picking up Ladybug and I'd want time to get her transitioned into her new home. It may be a good time to come for Tinkerbell, as it would give her body more time to mature and grow. I am also going to look into dog sitting services to see if there is one nearby, so we might bring her home earlier. We girls can hardly wait!

Please transfer our deposit and let me know if there is anything else you need from me.
I hope all goes well for you and your family and your husband's therapy.

With much appreciation,
Barbara, Krista and Elyssa

Hi Dawn,

I just wanted to say Gidget is a joy. I love her so much, we went to a few stores yesterday and brought her with us and everyone thought she was so cute. She's good with the house training and hasn't gone to the bathroom in the house. She hates her carrier though and cries a lot when I put her in it. I'm trying to give her a treat then put her in it, so we'll see how that works. She follows me around everywhere and like to take naps right next to me. Thanks again for her.

Valerie

Hi Dawn,

Just staying in touch. I sure love my little Elvis. He is such a doll and loves everyone. He isn't afraid of anything or any one. He just turned 6 mos old. He got his 1st rabies shot today. It was
at the clinic. Darn, I should have had them weigh him. I'll bet he is still 3 lbs or under. When I weighed him last he was 18 weeks and weighed 2.07. I am emailing you 2 pics for your website. He is just the cutest thing!

One of the gals at the clinic asked me for your info. Her name is Toni and got her email address and emailed her your website. I hope you hear from her. She wants a teacup Chihuahua.

Dawn, I hate to bother you about this but I have never received the pedigree papers that you sent. Could you please resend me a copy of his parents and his grandparents please. His mom is Ginger on Sugar and his dad is Little Boy Blue.

Thanks and hope to talk to you soon,
Gail

Dawn

Thank you so much for Fulla Ruckas. he is very playful and happy and snuggly.

All the dogs are in water cooled house. They just don't know how good they have it.

My husband is working this week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for the fairie thing. I smiled and laughed and forwarded it to some friends.

I hope your move is going well and you are drinking the wine and chocolate thing to rest.

I had a wonderful time at your place. whisper and I chatted the whole time.

Let me know when to come and pick up Glitter. I will be able to see the horses and hopefully remember the apples.

Babies are calling now, they want attention:):)

Penny

Hi Dawn..

here is cocoa...aka bon bon...........Amy has her in LA with her....she is 8 months i think on june 21...she is quite a handful....the ears did come up ...she has a mild undershot bit ..just like mom....which i guess i shouldn't be too surprised as most of beas litter mates had one too....Bea was home sick so Amy did a trade and took cocoa.....but i think we will be having a custody battle with Amy :) over who gets to keep Bea down the road as she is so much easier to have around since she is fully house trained and grown up....cocoa is still a puppy and more work.....ok just thought you would like to see the pics...

becky

Good morning, Dawn!

I just thought I'd share some new pics of Lily with you. She has grown a tiny bit and in her pics, she is modeling some of her new wardrobe. She is teething and many of her adult teeth are coming in. The vet says to spay her around six months and he'll be removing any baby teeth then, too. I'm a little nervous about her surgery, but I'm sure everything will be ok. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the pics and we'll talk to you soon!

Sincerely, Amanda & Lily

Here are some new pictures of my "Herd" of chihuahuas. Charlie and Elliot are doing great. Daisy Rae is a whopping 2 whole pounds finally and she is almost 19 weeks old. (She is over 4 months old) Based on that do you have any guesses as to how big she might get. She is the tiniest little darling little thing I have ever seen. I love her half to death and Andrew is in love with her too. The other day he thanked me for Charlie ! ! ! ! Thanked ME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!????????????? He was the one who didn't want a dog and he says that Charlie is HIS best friend! ! ! ! ! ! Thanks again Dawn......Hope all is well on your Chi ranch.
Sheila
