I began my journey through life with Burmese in 1986. They are such a joy, those Burmese. I added Traditional Siamese to my cattery a few years later and bred them to a Burmese to get cats called Tonkinese. Much like the original Burmese cat Wong Mau imported to the US who was actually Burmese/Siamese.
The gene pool for Burmese has been very small since Wong Mau, and the registration associations have not allowed enough outcrosses to keep the breed stable. The result are fewer and fewer kittens until my cattery stopped having kittens at all.
So, I decided to see what could be done to save my beloved Burmese. I looked at what breeding process created the Burmese many years ago. I decided to go back to the beginning of the breed . So, I acquired 3 female girls and one male from Thailand and have begun introducing them to my American Burmese and Tonkinese. Now I have the American Burmese I love, with a foundation Burmese from Thailand that has no inbreeding issues. The results are really smart healthy kittens!!! I will have full Thai kittens and my Burmese and Tonkinese will be bred to Thai to make a very lovely mix. Now I never have to be without my beautiful Burmese and Tonkinese! I can share them with you if you will allow me to.
My Thai kittens come in various colors. I breed Thai to Thai and Burmese to Thai. To fix the genetic problems with the American Burmese breed, I decided to dive in and to import cats from Thailand. And, though the personality will be the same, the colors and the look are a bit different. In America, we are accustomed to four colors in Burmese, Sable, Blue, Champagne, and Platinum. I will get those colors most likely. When you get a kitten from me, it may not look like the Burmese cats you see at a cat show but these unique cats will come with genetic diversity in color and look. They are going to be a definite exotic wow factor for you and your family to enjoy for many years.
Burmese are very affectionate, and love to be held, cuddled and talked to.
They love to "help" in any project you are involved in at the moment. Burmese will love you without reservation.
They are very beautiful with their short sleek coat of sable brown. I also have champagne Burmese kittens the color of coffee with cream. Burmese are for true cat lovers.
My Tonkinese kittens come in colors. Natural point, Natural Mink, Champagne Solid, blue mink and Natural Solid. They are precocious and curious and intelligent.
Tonkinese have been described as "monkeys in cat fur". They are playful and yet love to cuddle when they are done doing their mischief for the day.
I have two Thai Tonkinese to use in my breeding program.
